Craig Takes on His 240th Running Race at This Years Market Drayton 10K!

00:00well I started running about 35 competitively I've been a good mate of

00:05Tim Beckett who's the race director for a long long time we trained together we

00:08raced together and obviously I support the 10k by obviously doing it I started

00:14racing in about 2007 the actual market rate 10k and this will be my 18th year

00:18coming up so very proud of the race very proud of Tim and his team and everyone

00:23that takes part in the race and obviously the crowd are fantastic the

00:27support is fantastic we raised a lot of money for charities I actually raised

00:31some money for my dad for prostate cancer last year raising 1,400 so it's

00:36just overall a great race and yeah I just love running I love running for

00:40obviously my club very proud of market and running club I'm very proud of the

00:4310k race that Tim puts on every year I've done it 18 times now well this will

00:48be my 18th race in a row as well so I'm quite proud of that achievement even

00:52though some years have been slow times I've had a few injuries but I've always

00:55managed to get around it so yeah brilliant. After that how many running shoes have you been through?

01:00I have about two or three pairs a year so you do the maths 40 50 60 pairs maybe

01:05something like that and they're not cheap they are not cheap. Do you know how many

01:11have taken part in the coming weekend? Not sure but it's varied from like I say it

01:15started on about 140 people and it maxed out on two and a half thousand so

01:19there's probably over 2,000 but Tim would have to you know say the exact

01:22details so it should be a very good day for the town. And how many are part of

01:26Michael J Marine Club? I think we've got between 130 and 150 members so for a

01:31small town it's not bad you know it's not a bad little club. Are you hoping for a good turnout?

01:35Yes we always have a good turnout we get about 60 or 70 runners there hopefully

01:39yeah so it should be good oh thank you very much appreciate that.
