00:00All right, let's get to finally here on New York gaming some items, including some sports betting futures on New York teams, not moving forward. So tell me more about what those entail.
00:16Yes, so Senator Joe Dabo in New York was hopeful that New Yorkers could eventually have the shot to bet on MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, those kinds of bets that they're not able to, they're prohibited currently under the current framework that exists.
00:27He was trying to expand that, seemed like the Senate was into it. And then Governor Kathy Hochul in her final budget struck both items, including a 1% of tax revenue from sports betting could go to problem gaming.
00:39I think that would add about $3 million if you looked at last year's fiscal year, it's usually $6 million annually, it would go to $9 million. If this proposal was in place, it's not.
00:49So they can look at it post-budget, Dabo said they will on both items, both prop bets and this 1% of problem gambling, but certainly wouldn't be surprised if nothing moves at this point.
00:58We want that in the final budget, that's when you're going to get this stuff going if the governor's into it. So as with iGaming, if the governor's not into it, we'll see. That seems like a long shot, obviously, not only this year, but years to come potentially with the downstate casino process being so slow.
01:12So a lot of items here we'll be following, it doesn't seem like New Yorkers are going to get this. Maybe they do, it'd be a surprise, I think it'd be an upset if they do this year.
