00:00 >> Man, it's dope.
00:01 I've been watching those guys perform at a high level.
00:06 Guys like CJ Straub, Lamar Jackson, Jaylen Hurst, those type of guys.
00:11 And now being able to be a part of the family, being able to compete against
00:14 them, it's amazing for me to be a part of that.
00:17 >> What are your questions?
00:18 >> Very tight-knit communities, and part of that is the sports and
00:23 for the rentals.
00:25 >> [INAUDIBLE] >> Man, I'm just coming in to compete.
00:32 I gotta earn my role, I gotta earn everything.
00:35 Nothing's given to me, no matter how high I was drafted or anything like that.
00:38 I gotta come in and compete and show up every day and go to work.
00:41 >> Jaylen, what was your interaction with your watching group before you were
00:44 drafted?
00:45 What was your interaction with your watching group before you were drafted?
00:48 >> I mean, I talked to them a lot.
00:50 Zoom calls, obviously, my pre-draft visit, combine.
00:54 So just getting to know them, letting them know me as a person,
00:58 getting to know them as people too.
00:59 >> Jaylen, what was the toughest part about this whole process?
01:03 >> Man, waiting, waiting for this point, that's the toughest part.
01:06 >> I was gonna ask what's the most frustrating part?
01:08 I'm assuming it's waiting, but
01:10 was there any other part of this process that was a little frustrating?
01:15 >> No, just not knowing where you're going.
01:19 There's so much unknown.
01:21 It's the first time in my life that I get to choose where I go.
01:24 Obviously, high school, you choose your college and stuff like that, but
01:27 I'm excited, man.
01:28 I'm blessed.
01:29 >> Jaylen, what role has football played in your identity and sense of self?
01:34 >> I mean, I'm Jayden Denz, the person, and football is just what I do.
01:39 So I don't let football define me, who I am as a human being, but
01:42 it's just something I do, and I'm passionate about it.
01:44 >> Hey, Jaylen, what's anything you consider a franchise sport?
01:47 >> What was that?
01:48 >> What's anything you consider a franchise sport?
01:51 >> Man, I'm just coming in.
01:52 I don't got no role.
01:52 I'm a rookie.
01:54 I'm ready to go out there and just have fun, meet my new teammates and compete.
01:57 >> Hey, Jayden, what do you feel is good about the Whitefish Commanders?
02:01 What attributes do you feel you'll be able to help them as opposed to the other
02:05 team? >> Somebody who doesn't wanna compete.
02:08 Have that mentality to go out there and do whatever it takes to win.
02:10 Whatever role I am, I wanna be the best in that role, in that position,
02:15 and be the best human being each and every day.
02:17 >> Well, Link just went into play.
02:18 You know Giants, you guys are gonna be division rivals now.
02:20 What's it gonna be like going up against them in the next couple of years?
02:23 >> It's gonna be fun, man.
02:26 That's my brother, so I'm proud of him.
02:28 We worked for this.
02:29 And it's surreal now we're in the same division.
02:31 So for sure, after that first time we played each other,
02:35 we for sure gonna have the jersey swap.
02:37 >> You are the first player drafted to the organization under new ownership.
02:41 Well, just how does it feel to be the first player drafted into the American League?
02:45 >> I'm just happy I'm drafted.
02:46 >> [LAUGH] >> Really, I mean, it's a blessing.
02:51 I mean, God put me in this position.
02:53 So without him, I wouldn't be here today.
02:55 >> Are you ready to get petted on the side of Ben's chili bowl in DC?
02:59 >> I'm ready to win football games.
03:01 >> [LAUGH] >> I'm ready to help the team win some
03:03 football games, man.
03:04 I'm ready to go out there and live out my childhood dream.
