00:08 Welcome to WatchMojo,
00:10 and today we're counting down our picks
00:12 for the most hysterical movie scenes
00:14 featuring Will Ferrell that have left audiences
00:16 gasping for air.
00:18 "I'm on fire?"
00:20 "No, no, you're not on fire!"
00:22 Number 10,
00:24 the CEO of Mattel, Barbie.
00:26 "Could I just meet the woman in charge?"
00:28 "Your CEO?"
00:30 "Oh, that would be me."
00:32 It's quite remarkable that Mattel was okay
00:34 with director Greta Gerwig skewering them
00:36 in the Barbie movie. Gerwig accomplished this
00:38 by casting Will Ferrell as the toy company's
00:40 CEO. In a movie all about
00:42 examining gender norms, Ferrell represented
00:44 the face of the patriarchy.
00:46 "We are a company literally made of women!"
00:48 "We had a woman CEO in the 90s,
00:50 and there was another
00:52 one
00:54 at some other time."
00:56 Although known for more physical comedy
00:58 and lowbrow humor, the boardroom scene
01:00 allowed Ferrell to be more pointed.
01:02 The actor was incisive, cleverly
01:04 highlighting the gender disparity within the toy
01:06 company, which markets its products
01:08 to young girls despite being almost
01:10 exclusively run by men.
01:12 His jokes were dry and smart, and
01:14 delivered stinging social commentary through the
01:16 lens of comedy. "I'm the son of a mother.
01:18 I'm the mother of a son.
01:20 I'm the
01:22 nephew of a woman aunt.
01:24 Some of my best friends are Jewish."
01:26 Number 9. Blues Funeral.
01:28 Old School.
01:30 "Rust in the wind."
01:32 "Looks like you better put the KY wrestling on hold for a while."
01:34 "Oh, you're in the..."
01:36 2003 was a great year for Will Ferrell.
01:38 While many may remember that year for giving
01:40 us the now classic Christmas movie,
01:42 Elf, it also delivered a standout
01:44 Ferrell performance in Old School.
01:46 The actor plays one of several adult friends
01:48 looking to recapture their wilder youth
01:50 and save their buddy's house by starting
01:52 a frat. The movie is full of
01:54 classic Will Ferrell moments. In one
01:56 memorable scene, for example, Ferrell goes
01:58 into a fugue state to win an academic
02:00 debate. "I believe strongly there will always be a need
02:02 for us to have a well-articulated innovation policy
02:04 with emphasis on human resource development.
02:06 Thank you."
02:08 "What the hell was that? What happened? I blacked out."
02:14 However, it's his relationship
02:16 with elderly frat member Blue that steals
02:18 the show. When Blue ultimately
02:20 dies of a heart attack, his funeral
02:22 is equal parts poignant and
02:24 utterly ridiculous.
02:26 "You're my boy, Blue!
02:28 You're my boy."
02:30 8. Mayo becomes a Crenshaw
02:32 King. Get hard.
02:34 "Well, I need protection, uh,
02:36 and I'm hoping to join the Crenshaw Kings."
02:38 "Are you?"
02:40 In Get Hard, Ferrell
02:42 plays James King, a successful
02:44 money manager who is set up as a patsy
02:46 for financial crimes by his soon-to-be
02:48 father-in-law. After he's found
02:50 guilty, he hires his car-washing
02:52 expert Darnell, played by Kevin Hart,
02:54 to prepare him for prison life.
02:56 However, despite what James
02:58 King's prejudice might suggest, Darnell
03:00 knows just as little about prison
03:02 as he does. As a result,
03:04 his training is both silly and
03:06 insane. "No." "Let's let
03:08 that go." "You remember,
03:10 you know, with what Ricky did
03:12 and the ticket, and
03:14 you freaked out and Darnell took control
03:16 of the situation." In one scene,
03:18 Darnell takes him to meet a local gang,
03:20 the Crenshaw Kings, to gain protection.
03:22 James unexpectedly leverages
03:24 his financial skills to gain the gang's confidence.
03:26 He later joins them
03:28 and earns himself a new nickname,
03:30 "Mayo." "Did you know you did
03:32 alright this time? Your boy Mayo
03:34 is an army." Number 7.
03:36 Endless phone calls. Blades of Glory.
03:38 In Blades of Glory,
03:40 Ferrell stars as Chad Michael Michaels,
03:42 a professional figure skater with an
03:44 undying thirst for sex. "No one
03:46 knows what it means, but it's provocative."
03:48 "You know what's nice?" "It gets the people
03:50 going." "No, that's enough!"
03:52 Initially, he's pitted against Jimmy McElroy,
03:54 a self-taught skater played by
03:56 Napoleon Dynamite star John Heeder.
03:58 However, after a confrontation
04:00 gets them banned from the singles competition,
04:02 Chaz and Jimmy are forced to collaborate
04:04 and compete as a pair. "You know what, dude?
04:06 Your head has to be on top." "No way, the girls
04:08 goes on top." "Yeah, air go."
04:10 "Chick." When Jimmy sets his sights
04:12 on Jenna Fisher's Katie, Chaz teaches
04:14 his new friend how to court her.
04:16 Unfortunately, Chaz's insatiable sex
04:18 drive gets the better of him, leading to an
04:20 awkward encounter that Jimmy witnesses.
04:22 The following scene involves
04:24 Chaz leaving Jimmy a series of comical
04:26 and increasingly intimate voicemails.
04:28 "I'm committed to this thing called friendship.
04:30 And I ain't going nowhere.
04:32 And if you think I'm going anywhere, you're wrong.
04:34 You know why? Because I will not back down
04:36 ever! I won a lot of radio contests
04:38 because I refused to get off the line!"
04:40 Number 6. Chaz
04:42 Reinhold. Wedding Crashers. "Come here
04:44 brother. Give me a hug.
04:46 Bring it in for the real thing."
04:48 Wedding Crashers is a
04:50 comedy classic for most millennials,
04:52 starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as friends
04:54 who make a habit of crashing weddings to meet
04:56 women. Though they're both incredibly funny
04:58 in the film, it's Will Ferrell as yet
05:00 another Chaz who steals the show. "What?
05:02 (laughing)
05:04 What
05:06 an idiot!
05:08 Oh, what a loser!
05:10 Good!"
05:12 Chaz, who is the OG
05:14 wedding crasher, becomes a mentor
05:16 of sorts for Wilson's character when he feels
05:18 abandoned by his friend. At first, it
05:20 seems unlikely that this middle-aged maniac
05:22 who still stays with his mother could know
05:24 anything about the pick-up game. "You hungry?
05:26 Hey Ma! Can we get some meatloaf?"
05:28 As it turns out, Chaz
05:30 lives up to his reputation, and
05:32 has even expanded his exploits by
05:34 seeking out mourners at funerals.
05:36 "The funerals are insane!
05:38 The chicks are so horny, it's not
05:40 even fair! It's like fishing
05:42 with dynamite!"
05:44 Buddy confronts Santa, Elf.
05:46 "Who the heck are you?" "What are you talking
05:48 about? I'm Santa Claus." "No you're not!"
05:50 In Elf, Ferrell stars as
05:52 Buddy, a human baby who hitched
05:54 a ride with Santa and was raised as a Christmas
05:56 elf. Now an adult, Buddy
05:58 travels to New York City in search of his
06:00 birth father. Armed with his own
06:02 handmade elf costume and a wealth of
06:04 Christmas knowledge, he secures a job at a
06:06 department store. When the manager tells Buddy
06:08 that he will meet the mall Santa, the elf
06:10 is thrilled. "Santa's coming
06:12 to town!" "Santa!
06:14 Oh my God!"
06:16 "Santa's here? I know him!"
06:18 His joy turns to anger, however,
06:20 when he discovers that the mall Santa
06:22 is not his old boss. The ensuing
06:24 confrontation will go down
06:26 as one of Will Ferrell's most iconic
06:28 scenes. "You stink!" "I think
06:30 you're gonna have a good Christmas, alright?"
06:32 "Beef and cheese, you don't smell like Santa."
06:34 "Okay."
06:36 "Hold!
06:38 Get it off my shirt!"
06:40 First Family Dinner - Step Brothers
06:42 "So Brennan, how about you?
06:44 I know you used to work at
06:46 PetSmart, right?"
06:48 "That's right, Mr. Doback."
06:50 "Call me Robert."
06:52 "That's right, Robin." "Robert."
06:54 Step Brothers is arguably one of Will Ferrell's
06:56 best comedies, cementing his long-standing
06:58 collaboration with John C. Reilly.
07:00 They play a pair of grown men suffering
07:02 from Peter Pan Syndrome, each living
07:04 with their respective single parents.
07:06 When their parents meet each other and fall in love,
07:08 the two stepbrothers initially become arch
07:10 enemies, pranking each other and causing
07:12 mischief. "I know you touched my drum set
07:14 and I want to hear that dirty little mouth admit it!"
07:16 "You get out of my face or I'm gonna roundhouse
07:18 your ass!" However, upon
07:20 realizing their common interests, their
07:22 relationship transforms into a deep friendship.
07:24 The several Family Dinner scenes
07:26 are absolutely some of the funniest moments
07:28 ever put to film. "That's cute.
07:30 I remember when I had my first
07:32 beer." "Ha ha ha,
07:34 that's so funny, the last time I heard that I laughed so hard
07:36 I fell off my dinosaur!" "Stop,
07:38 right now, alright? Let's just back
07:40 off." At their first dinner, the two
07:42 see each other as heated rivals, but
07:44 by the last, they are emotional
07:46 wrecks after their parents announce
07:48 their divorce. Number 3.
07:50 Ricky in Flames. Talladega Nights.
07:52 The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
07:54 "Alright, you're not on fire!" "I knew it, you're lying!
07:56 I'm on fire!"
07:58 "There is no fire!"
08:00 "I'm on fire!" "Come back here!"
08:02 "But something looks wrong, I mean,
08:04 he's running around like, like he's on fire?"
08:06 Talladega Nights is another comedic
08:08 gem from the Ferrell/Riley duo.
08:10 Ferrell plays the titular Ricky Bobby,
08:12 a hilarious caricature of a
08:14 NASCAR driver. There are too many
08:16 incredible scenes in the film to pick just one.
08:18 When Ricky Bobby and his family say grace,
08:20 for example, they argue over which
08:22 Jesus should be receiving their prayers.
08:24 "Jesus did grow up.
08:26 You don't always have to call him baby.
08:28 It's a bit odd and off-putting to pray to a baby."
08:30 "Look, I like the Christmas Jesus best,
08:32 and I'm saying grace. When you say grace,
08:34 you can say it to grown-up Jesus or teenage Jesus
08:36 or bearded Jesus or whoever you want."
08:38 But perhaps the most iconic scene takes place
08:40 at the racetrack. Ricky's fall from grace
08:42 starts with an epic crash that sends his
08:44 Wonder Bread car flying. Though he
08:46 emerges from the wreck unscathed,
08:48 Ricky, in his panic, thinks that he's on fire.
08:50 His ensuing reaction
08:52 is gratuitous, preposterous,
08:54 and absolutely classic.
08:56 "Ahh!
08:58 Help me, Tom Cruise!" "But how did he
09:00 get down to his underwear that fast?"
09:02 "Tom Cruise used a witchcraft
09:04 to get the fire off me!"
09:06 Number 2. Gator. The Other Guys.
09:08 "I'm telling you, you were a peb."
09:10 "No! Are you even listening to the story?"
09:12 Though Farrell often plays wacky
09:14 characters, some of his best scenes are
09:16 in movies where he plays a buttoned-up straight man.
09:18 In The Other Guys, Farrell and
09:20 Mark Wahlberg star as a pair of B-level
09:22 detectives hoping to solve a mysterious
09:24 case. As Wahlberg reluctantly
09:26 learns more about his straight-laced partner,
09:28 he comes to realize that he is not as
09:30 squeaky clean as he appears.
09:32 "I just don't want to ever feel out of control like that ever again."
09:34 In addition to somehow being a magnet
09:36 for unbelievably attractive women,
09:38 Detective Gamble had a shockingly dark
09:40 past. As a nerdy college student,
09:42 he accidentally fell into the pimp
09:44 game and went by the street name
09:46 Gator. "Anyway, one day I wake up
09:48 and I look in the mirror and I don't like what I see.
09:50 I mean, I had gotten out of control
09:54 and I didn't even realize it.
09:56 You can't have a conscience in the
09:58 pimp game." Before we unveil our
10:00 top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
10:02 Zoolander 2.
10:04 Mugatu has an absolutely iconic
10:06 escape from prison.
10:08 "Where's my goddam
10:12 latte?" The Campaign.
10:14 A congressman with a damaged
10:16 reputation goes to any lengths to
10:18 get re-elected. "I'm sorry, the snake bit
10:20 me." "Which means you don't have
10:22 the faith of God." "Yeah, yes
10:24 I do. God has removed
10:26 the venom from my blood." The
10:28 Ladies' Man. Farrell plays a master
10:30 of Greco-Roman wrestling.
10:32 "And I will crush you!
10:34 And you will learn a new definition of
10:36 pain!"
10:38 "Are you sure
10:40 you don't want just a dab? It's
10:42 a lemon essence and it is delightful."
10:44 The House. A friendly
10:46 suburban dad transforms into
10:48 a vicious casino enforcer.

11:12 Number
11:14 1. The Phone Booth.
11:16 Anchorman. The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
11:18 "The man put it back, sir!"
11:20 "Calm down.
11:22 Breathe, Ron. Breathe."
11:24 "The man!" Anchorman is
11:26 arguably the film that turned Will Farrell
11:28 into a household name. Chock full
11:30 of completely bonkers improvised
11:32 moments, the film features the who's who
11:34 of comedy stars. In a movie where
11:36 every scene is a classic, the
11:38 phone booth sequence stands out as one of his best.
11:40 "He took him with his foot
11:42 and he kicked him!
11:44 That's what he did!" "Someone punted him?"
11:46 "No, wait, wait, let me say
11:48 something. Let me say something.
11:50 *screams*"
11:52 Legendary news anchor Ron Burgundy
11:54 is running late for work, and
11:56 it's his own fault. A chain of events
11:58 beginning with an overindulgent burrito
12:00 ends with Ron losing his seat
12:02 to up-and-comer Veronica Corningstone.
12:04 It is wild, it is crazy,
12:06 and it puts the whole world into
12:08 a glass case of emotion. "Where are you?"
12:10 "I'm in a glass case
12:12 of emotion!" If a Will
12:14 Farrell scene ain't first on our list,
12:16 it's last. What's your favorite hilarious
12:18 Will Farrell scene? Tell us in the comments
12:20 below. "Boy,
12:22 that escalated quickly.
12:24 I mean, that really got out of hand
12:26 fast." Did you enjoy this
