Transcript
00:00 Sources have confirmed to AllClippers.com that Lou Williams has left the NBA bubble
00:04 in Orlando.
00:05 The Alley Clippers are now down a handful of players in the bubble, including Ebisu
00:09 Zubats, Montrezl Harrell, Patrick Beverly, Landry Schamett, and now Williams, who is
00:14 out due to personal reasons.
00:16 It's an excused absence.
00:17 In terms of other players, Montrezl Harrell and Patrick Beverly both have emergencies
00:20 to deal with right now.
00:22 Ebisu Zubats is out for unknown reasons.
00:25 And Landry Schamett after being tested positive for coronavirus on July 4th.
00:30 He posted on Instagram a couple weeks ago, or about last week actually, talking about
00:34 how his quarantine period was almost over.
00:36 He's scheduled to join the team soon, but is still out of practice this morning.
00:40 Williams was just the leading scorer for the Clippers in their first game on Wednesday,
00:43 scoring a team-high 22 points.
00:45 He also is the current reigning 6th man of the year, and a very integral part of the
00:49 Clippers' success.
00:50 The situation is a bit concerning for LA.
00:53 They're missing a lot of very key and important players right now.
00:56 While there was a good chance that many of them returned for opening night against the
00:59 Lakers on July 30th, they're missing invaluable practice time right now.
01:03 The Clippers never really had a chance to have a fully healthy roster for training camp
01:06 in October, and this is a chance to have one instead now that they're even worse off than
01:10 they were before.
01:11 Doc Rivers confirmed offhand that Williams is no longer in the bubble.
01:15 At the end of team's media availability, Rivers confirmed off-camera that Williams, Harrell,
01:19 and Beverly are not in the bubble right now.
01:21 Over the past week, some of the problems in the bubble have clearly been exposed.
01:24 Players have lives, they have children being born.
01:26 They have to leave the bubble numerous times.
01:28 On Friday morning, Marcus Morris mentioned that his second son will be born in September.
01:33 He'll be leaving for that birth as well.
01:35 So hopefully this is an early sign that the bubble will collapse in the near future.
