00:00Doc Rivers has seen a lot in the NBA. He's been in the league for 37 years if you look at his time
00:06as a player and his time as a coach. He's been a player, coach, and analyst. He's been everything
00:10there is to be in the NBA. He's been at the forefront of racial injustice. He's had his
00:14house burnt down. He's seen everything. And right now, he says the current players in the NBA give
00:22him hope about social justice. He mentioned there's always hot times when it seems like
00:27players are going to rise up and start taking stances on things, but then it just seems to
00:31dissipate. But what he seems to think is different about this time around and with this crop of
00:37players is that they make sure to keep it. They make sure that nothing leaves, that they keep
00:43pushing it forward, and that the younger players are even willing to step up. And when it comes to
00:48the NBA, a lot of it's lead by example. They do what the top player does. If Michael Jordan's not
00:52really going to talk, a lot of the players aren't really going to talk. And LeBron James has done
00:57a tremendous example for other players at flawlessly leading the league when it comes to
01:03giving players confidence to speak out about issues. That's why you have guys like Jalen Brown,
01:08Giannis, all these players protesting being a part of social justice changes. And that's what
01:14gives Doc Rivers hope. And you will probably see the NBA be the lead in terms of all the other
01:21sports teams in the world at looking for social justice.
