Transcript
00:00 Tyreek Hill went off in the Chiefs win over the Buccaneers,
00:03 269 yards receiving three touchdowns.
00:06 He had 200 yards receiving after the first quarter.
00:08 I'm here now with Bill Enright.
00:10 And Bill, you know, we talk about the best receiver
00:11 in the game a lot, and I don't feel like we mention Hill.
00:14 And to me, he might be the most dangerous.
00:17 I don't know if that's the same as best,
00:19 but he can beat you with the deep ball.
00:21 He can beat you with the run after the catch.
00:23 You have to worry about him in motion all the time.
00:26 I get that he plays with Patrick Mahomes,
00:28 but this guy's so good, he can hit you with a peace sign
00:31 or a backflip in the midst of a game.
00:33 Should he get loved as perhaps
00:35 the best receiver in the game?
00:37 - Absolutely, Robin.
00:38 If you look at his stats since 2018,
00:41 he has 32 touchdowns, 3,360 yards, 213 catches.
00:46 Now his catches, that's 11th best in the league since 2018,
00:50 but he's doing so much more with much less
00:54 because despite being 11th in catches,
00:57 he's fourth in yards and first in touchdowns.
01:01 Now you brought up the fact that he's playing
01:03 with Patrick Mahomes, that's a perfect storm scenario.
01:06 Add in the fact that he has coaches like Andy Reid
01:08 and Eric Bien-Ami, and this is a quarterback
01:12 to wide receiver plus coordinator and coach duo
01:15 that is certainly one of the most dangerous in the NFL.
01:17 Now, the great thing about Tyree Kill
01:19 is he doesn't need all of those catches.
01:21 He'll never be in the conversation with a Michael Thomas
01:24 or a Julio Jones for the most catches in the league.
01:27 But if you look at his yards and his touchdowns,
01:30 he is getting those same kind of stats
01:33 with much less receptions.
01:35 And you mentioned the word dangerous.
01:36 He is by far the most dangerous player
01:39 with the ball in his hands in the entire NFL,
01:42 no questions asked.
01:43 - You know, like DeAndre Hopkins has proven it
01:45 in a couple spots, and we know he can go up
01:47 and get the ball, but there's a little bit
01:48 of a difference with hill and build.
01:50 You think that's part of the reason why?
01:52 Obviously alongside playing with Mahomes
01:54 that maybe people don't give him quite the same shine.
01:57 I'm sure you'll get it today.
01:59 - You look at his contested catches
02:01 and he really gets up there.
02:03 There's a couple of highlight plays
02:05 that he puts people on a poster
02:07 because of his leaping ability.
02:08 So he can go up and go over defenders.
02:12 Now he's not as tall or as big as Julio Jones
02:14 or DeAndre Hopkins.
02:16 So maybe his catches look a little bit more spectacular
02:19 when he does have to go up and go over a defender,
02:21 but the speed is really what just destroys
02:25 opposing defenses.
02:26 And the Buccaneers, they got exposed
02:28 by playing Tyree Kill one-on-one coverage
02:31 with no safety help.
02:32 I don't know what they were thinking by doing that,
02:35 but I guarantee that no other teams
02:37 are gonna be making that mistake the rest of the year.
02:40 - Yeah, we'll do the same thing Tyree Kill did
02:42 to a hapless defender to anyone not including him
02:45 in the best wide receiver in the game conversation.
