00:03 - We take a look here at the NL Rookie of the Year odds.
00:05 A couple of Cubs showing up here.
00:07 That's Imanaga, Michael Bush,
00:08 who's been fantastic here early on,
00:10 and Pete Crowe Armstrong.
00:11 If we're shaping up this market,
00:13 what are the chances that it's not a pitcher
00:16 in your mind here, Craig Mitch,
00:17 in the National League to win the Rookie of the Year?
00:20 - Well, I mean, you have several that have the opportunity.
00:23 Jared Jones has been fantastic.
00:25 If Pittsburgh continues to play well, he's in the equation.
00:27 I mentioned Imanaga.
00:29 I definitely think he's in the equation as well.
00:33 It doesn't hurt to be on a good team.
00:35 I would say that's a possibility too.
00:37 The player that I really liked before the year,
00:40 he hasn't hit as many home runs as he did overseas,
00:43 is Jungho Lee on San Francisco,
00:45 but he's a really exciting player.
00:47 He's like a gap-to-gap guy, and you guys know this,
00:50 in that park in San Francisco,
00:51 it's just really hard to hit home runs.
00:53 You have to be a special player.
00:55 So Laird is hitting home runs now for them,
00:57 but in the past, I mean,
00:58 when you think about the lack of power
00:59 that they've had there,
01:00 it's just very hard to replicate a Bonds or a Jeff Kent
01:03 or somebody like that.
01:04 So I think it's a fair question, Donnie.
01:06 It does seem to me that one of those pitchers
01:09 could end up winning it.
01:10 I guess my comment on the NL to this point
01:13 would be to say, outside of the start that Imanaga has had,
01:17 and let's give Jared Jones credit too,
01:18 outside of those two,
01:19 has anybody really separated themselves right now?
01:22 So I think we're kind of, you know,
01:24 have a long way to go here,
01:25 but for me, it would not be Yamamoto at the top.
01:27 I probably would try somebody else.
01:29 And I think another story to tell here
01:32 is the fact that you have Skeens and Pete Crow Armstrong
01:34 without playing, I know PCA, he got called up yesterday,
01:37 but without playing a single game,
01:39 they're still very much in the mix.
01:40 It tells you that no one's really separated themselves.
