Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn says Michael Davis will start at corner, but Brandon Facyson impressed him over past two weeks.
Transcript
00:00Coach, Michael Davis is back, is he gonna return to being a starter?
00:06How are you gonna handle that situation?
00:07You know, I thought Faison did a good job in the last couple of weeks.
00:10So I definitely want him to continue to get reps in practice.
00:14And he'll probably be in the game at some point, but Michael Davis will start.
00:17Okay.
00:18And specifically with Faison, what have you liked about what he's done?
00:22His physicality in the running game.
00:24I love the way he stepped up and
00:27taking on blocks and making plays.
00:30Was that something that you thought he could do or
00:32is he surprised you with that?
00:34No, I mean, he's shown passion for that.
00:36But seeing him back to back weeks and
00:39him being consistent at it, that's what's been impressive.
00:43How much do you feel like that playing time earlier this season when Michael was
00:45injured with the Hampton Health brand and just as far as get to experience it?
00:49I'm sure they'd have some because this time around it was better.
00:52You know, I think it was getting his feet wet the first time around and
00:55this time it was night and day.
00:57How much patience do you generally have to have with young players?
01:00You've got a lot of young players getting played up to the tackles earlier in
01:03the season.
01:04How much patience, I mean, obviously you would want.
01:06Well, I know we live in a microwave industry right now where we want
01:10instant success, but these guys are rookies and
01:14they're second year players and they're still developing.
01:16You have to be patient with these young men.
01:18Or I believe you can put them in a situation or
01:21mindset where you set them up better if you're not.
01:24Because it takes some time to adjust to the speed of this level.
01:28And everybody's an elite athlete.
01:31It's not like college where you're the dominant guy anymore.
01:33So when you look at quarterbacks around the league now, and
01:36they come in every rookie year, we expect these guys to be like pro bowlers.
01:39When I played, a quarterback couldn't get on the field for four years.
01:42So I think we do have to be a little more patient with the young players.
01:45Does that get a lot of some fans a little bit?
01:47Do you think that would be a lot of fans might expect?
01:49The world that we live in now, it's just the way it is.
01:54It's just the way it is.
01:55It's just the way it is.
