00:00 With Philip Rivers throwing so many interceptions over his last two games
00:04 and you're going through the self-scouting process, is there anything that you
00:07 change in terms of the offense or is it just you trust Phil to make the
00:11 corrections on his own?
00:12 I mean we as coaches have to you know talk to him and do that stuff.
00:16 Obviously and he knows though he's a veteran player in this league and he
00:19 knows what he's got to do to get better. Obviously there's a fine line there you
00:22 know you still want to be aggressive through all the football but you know at
00:25 the same time make smart decisions and as a plate caller you know sometimes you
00:29 got to make better calls.
00:30 So you do in some way alter your play call knowing that he's had those issues
00:34 you want to help him out?
00:35 Yeah I mean you want to have high completion percentage but I'm not going to alter how we call the offense.
00:39 You know what I mean? How we call plays. We're going to still do what we do and just try to make smarter decisions.
00:45 Does the bye week offer any opportunity to do more foundational work with the
00:49 offense? I know when you took over, that was the middle of the week. This is the
00:53 offense that was installed all the way back in training camp but now you have a
00:56 little bit of time maybe to make adjustments. Is that something that you
00:59 guys can do?
00:59 Yeah I mean obviously you look and see where you can add the wrinkles. You know what I mean?
01:02 I mean it's not like a huge amount all month but you got a couple weeks.
01:05 So you got just the one week actually to look at it so you can add your wrinkles
01:09 and put a little stuff on it.
01:10 And that's not just for this particular opponent that's like for the last month of the season?
01:13 Yeah I mean I think for each opponent it changes your game plan. You're not going to run certain things
01:17 for a setter. Probably something to play a different type of style of defense.
01:19 So I think it's all dictated off who you're playing.
