00:00We're all about to get a good look at Roger Goodell's basement.
00:03For more on how the NFL draft will work, I'm joined by the MMQB's Albert Breer.
00:08Albert, we know it'll be remote, we know it'll be virtual.
00:11How are they going to make it work technology-wise?
00:12Yeah, I mean, there's going to be a lot of things that they're going to have to work
00:16through.
00:17They're going to do a mock draft next week, actually, with 32 teams, just to make sure
00:21that everything's in working order.
00:23They're going to mock picks, they're going to mock trades.
00:26Basically the way this thing's going to be set up, it's going to be hubbed in two places.
00:30One, like you said, Roger Goodell's basement in Westchester County, New York.
00:34And then the other hub is going to be in Bristol, Connecticut, where the broadcast is going to
00:39emanate from.
00:40And so it's going to be a very different-looking draft, of course.
00:43And then for each of the 32 teams, there's going to be a direct line into this.
00:47And so every team is going to have to designate one decision-maker.
00:51That decision-maker is going to be allowed to have an IT person on hand.
00:56Nobody else can do that.
00:57Just the one decision-maker has an IT person on hand who can help them if they do have
01:01technical difficulties.
01:03Then teams are going to have to designate three decision-making level people.
01:08Now this could be your head coach, your GM, your director of player personnel.
01:11And all three of those guys are going to be patched in to a Microsoft Teams meeting, which
01:17is going to have all 32 teams on it, and the commissioner as well.
01:21Teams will make their picks through that.
01:23That will be backed up by a conference call, which the decision-makers can patch themselves
01:27into as well.
01:28And so they're trying to create bail saves here so it works for everybody.
01:32But clearly they're on a little bit of untreaded ground here, and everybody's trying to make
01:38it work as best they can.
01:39And so certainly I think it's going to be interesting for each of these teams when they
01:43go through the mock draft next week as they try to take a dry run at this.
01:47Now the broadcast isn't going to let us see that call with all the teams on it?
