00:00If you want to ask questions, we'll pass the microphone to you.
00:03Let's just start.
00:08Guys, we need participants here.
00:09Mike, please, please.
00:13Tom, could you just sum up your thoughts on the game
00:16and just the season coming to a close?
00:18Obviously not the way you wanted it to unfold.
00:21Yeah, just give them a lot of credit.
00:24They played good and, you know,
00:26kind of stopped us when they needed to at different points
00:28in the first half and the second half
00:30and just weren't able to get the job done.
00:37Tom, a lot of interest, obviously,
00:39in what's going to happen next.
00:41Can you just explain to us?
00:42I know you just came off the field,
00:43but just how you plan to go about your process
00:45in determining what to do next with your...
00:49Yeah, I just came off the field.
00:50You're right, so...
00:55Tom, the first half, you guys had first and goal to go,
01:00and you took two timeouts in that sequence.
01:03What did you see that you didn't like
01:07when they got the stop on third down?
01:09Yeah, we were just trying to get to, you know, our best play,
01:12and, you know, I just give them credit.
01:14It was a good job executing by them on defense.
01:19Yeah, I wish we could have scored there,
01:20but they made the plays when they needed to.
01:26Bill earlier said that you didn't make enough plays
01:28tonight offensively.
01:29It seems that over the last several weeks,
01:32we've been thinking the same thing
01:34in terms of not making enough plays offensively.
01:37From your perspective, Tom, what has been the factor
01:42that has prevented this team from having a cohesive offense
01:47and not being able to make the plays on a consistent level
01:49over the last several weeks?
01:51Because that's been a failure.
01:53Yeah, well, I think any time you lose games
01:55and don't produce the way you want,
01:57there's probably a lot of things we all wish
01:59we could do a lot better.
02:01I certainly wish I could do some things better,
02:04but we didn't, and it's the results business,
02:06and it's about winning and losing,
02:08and the more things you do right and well,
02:11the better chance you have to win,
02:14and, you know, we just didn't do enough things right.
02:18Karen.
02:20Over here, Tom.
02:21Hi, Karen.
02:22Hi.
02:23Would you say offensively that this performance
02:26was kind of like a microcosm of what happened
02:28during the season between red zone difficulties,
02:32third down difficulties, and so on?
02:34Did it seem like it's sort of what happened
02:37during the regular season carried over?
02:40I mean, I definitely think, you know,
02:42in regards to night third down and red air
02:44were a problem for us,
02:45and I don't think those were particularly great areas
02:48to write over the course of the season,
02:50so, yeah, it was just a tough way to end it tonight,
02:57and, you know, again, I give them a lot of credit.
03:00They made more plays than we did,
03:02and, you know, if we want to win those games,
03:05we're going to have to do a better job.
03:07Tom, at this stage of your career
03:09and at this stage of your life,
03:12is it tougher to see a season
03:14that you're in the playoffs end
03:15because you're running out of potential chances
03:18for championships?
03:19I think we're all running out of time
03:21and chances every year that goes by,
03:24so I don't think I'm the only one in that category
03:26in this room or probably in any of these rooms.
03:29Julia Penney.
03:30Hey, Tom.
03:31I know tonight's disappointing for you,
03:33your teammates.
03:34Next to you guys, I think the most upset
03:36are fans and Patriots Nation.
03:38They've stuck with you through everything.
03:40They adore you.
03:41Do you have any message for them tonight?
03:43Yeah, I mean, we and I personally, you know,
03:46appreciate, you know, everything that they've,
03:48you know, you know, contributed over the course of,
03:52you know, not just this year, but a lot of years,
03:55and, you know, just very grateful for,
03:58you know, the experience of playing this year
04:01for this team, this organization,
04:03and over the course of my career, too,
04:05so I appreciate it.
04:08I appreciate it.
04:09I hope I have always, you know,
04:13tried to do the right thing out there,
04:15and, you know, who knows what the future holds,
04:20so we'll leave it at that.
04:22Harry Bichette on the right.
04:24I guess on that same note, Tom,
04:25do you have a sense of whether you'll be back
04:28with the Patriots in 2020,
04:30and do you want to be back with the Patriots in 2020?
04:32I love the Patriots.
04:33I mean, they obviously, you know,
04:36they got the greatest organization,
04:38and, you know, playing for Mr. Craft all these years,
04:41and for Coach Belichick, I mean, there's, you know,
04:46there's nobody who's had a better career,
04:48I would say, than me, just being with them,
04:51so I'm very blessed,
04:52and I don't know what the future looks like,
04:54so I'm not going to predict it,
04:56so I wish we would've won tonight,
04:58and I wish we'd done a lot of things better
05:01over the course of the season,
05:02but we just didn't get the job done.
05:05Derek Hyatt.
05:06Tom, I know that you keep saying
05:08that you don't know what's going to happen in the future.
05:10Is there any possibility that you would retire
05:12after this last season?
05:15I, you know, I would say it's pretty unlikely,
05:19but, you know, hopefully unlikely.
05:25Final question.
05:27Kara Solner.
05:30Tom, I did just want to ask
05:32if you could just share emotionally
05:34what you're feeling at the moment,
05:36and as the competitor that you are,
05:39somebody did ask a retirement question.
05:41Your last throw was a pick six.
05:43How that would sit?
05:45It happens when you throw the ball,
05:47so it should've been a 99-yard touchdown.
05:52That would've been pretty cool, but it wasn't.
05:57About what?
06:00About the pick six?
06:02No, just in general.
06:04Oh.
06:06Yeah, it was probably a lot of emotions,
06:08and, you know, again, I wish we would've won,
06:10and, yeah, just disappointed that we didn't win.
06:14One last question.
06:15You know, Tom.
06:17Tom, even though tonight didn't end
06:19obviously the way you wanted it to,
06:21you did win your 11th straight division title,
06:25and as you sort of sort through things in the offseason,
06:28will that be something that stays with you
06:30and a hard thing to walk away from?
06:32Nobody's yet taken that division away from you,
06:35and is that a reason to stay until that happens?
06:38Yeah, again, I don't want to get too much
06:40into the future and stuff.
06:41I mean, this team has fought hard.
06:43You know, we battled every day.
06:45We tried to get better.
06:46We worked hard to improve,
06:48and I was proud to be a part of this team
06:51not only this year but every year,
06:53and, you know, again,
06:57I just don't know what's going to happen,
06:58and, you know, I'm not going to predict it,
07:00and no one needs to make choices at this point,
07:04and, you know, I love playing football.
07:07I love playing for this team.
07:08I loved playing for this team for two decades
07:10and winning a lot of games,
07:12and, again, I just don't know
07:14what it looks like moving forward,
07:16so we'll just take it day by day.
07:19Thank you, guys. Appreciate it.
07:23Quarterback's Tom Brady.
07:28See you tomorrow.
