00:00Now, that Justin Herbert is a member of the Los Angeles Chargers, let's find out if he's
00:05going to start in week one and how many passing yards he'll have in 2020.
00:09For that, I bring on Jason Hirshhorn, who covers the Chargers, and Jamie Eisner, one
00:13of our fantasy and gambling analysts here at Sports Illustrated.
00:16Jason, I'll start with you.
00:18Herbert, under center week one, is that going to happen?
00:22I would say probably not.
00:24They're pretty committed to, while in open competition, giving Tyrod Taylor a real chance
00:30at securing the starting job for the beginning of the season.
00:33Now, that could change in short order as Justin Herbert becomes better acclimated with the
00:38NFL, with the Chargers offense.
00:40So it wouldn't surprise anyone if, kind of like Tyrod a few years ago in Cleveland, gets
00:45replaced near the end of the first month of the season or not that long thereafter.
00:48So I think at some point in 2020, we will see Justin Herbert as the starting quarterback,
00:51but I don't think it will be week one.
00:54Jamie, I know you have the odds from these sportsbooks about whether or not Herbert will
00:59start week one and also is over under for his passing yards.
01:03What do you got?
01:04Well, they're in full agreement on him not starting in week one right now.
01:08That answer is minus $370, so you have to bet $370 just to win $100 back on the no.
01:14I think Jason's right on the money here.
01:15I think this is very similar to what happened with Tyrod Taylor in Cleveland.
01:19He will get the chance to start the season, but I don't think he'll finish the season.
01:22And that's the key for this Justin Herbert passing yards bet.
01:25It's right now set at 3,400 total yards with even juice, minus $110 on both sides.
01:31For me to take the over, you would have to basically gamble that he's going to make 12
01:36or more starts this season.
01:38If you don't think he's going to start that much, you take the under.
01:41Great analysis, Jamie.
01:42Jason, thank you.
