According to LA Clippers coach Doc Rivers, the team's playoff rotations are still unknonw
Transcript
00:00Although the NBA restart has yet to tip off, it isn't too early to start thinking about the L.A. Clippers' upcoming postseason run,
00:05which begins one month from today on August 17th.
00:08Coach Doc Rivers spoke a bit about the team's game plan for the playoffs and Friday morning supporters.
00:13They made it clear there's still quite a bit to figure out, saying quote,
00:16We know who we want to play, but as far as the rotations and the minutes go,
00:19I think it's still a little bit in flux.
00:21Obviously, this is no surprise. The rotation hasn't set in stone just yet. The seeding games probably will help determine that a little bit,
00:27but it's important to keep in mind that as currently constructed, with the exception of Joakim Noah,
00:31this team's only played a handful of games together this season.
00:34It's going to take plenty of time, research, and testing to determine what works and what doesn't.
00:38And Rivers hinted that they'll be experimenting during L.A.'s scrimmage games,
00:41which he's referring to as the preseason from here on out, saying quote,
00:45It's up to each team to do whatever they want to do in them.
00:48I typically try a lot of stuff in those games with a different opponent.
00:51Rivers has previously talked about implementing a small ball lineup with someone like Marcus Morris at the 5,
00:56so there's a chance we could see all sorts of new looks from L.A. once the games begin next week,
01:00but it doesn't mean that we'll actually be seeing those lineups stick through the postseason.
01:05Regardless of what Rivers and the coaching staff decide to go with,
01:07the Clippers should be in an excellent position to make a deep run into the playoffs and potentially win their first NBA title later this year.
01:13Two-way stars Kawhi Leiter and Paul George both tend to put their best basketball into the postseason,
01:18and they're complimented by focused role players like Patrick Beverley and the highest scoring bench in the NBA.
01:23L.A.'s first scrimmage is set for July 22nd, but that game is unlikely to be televised.
01:28Instead, we can expect to see our first look at the Clippers in over four months next Saturday when they take on the Washington Wizards.
