00:00NBA players have all sorts of avenues by which they can improve their performance both on and off the court.
00:05For L.A. Clippers guard Reggie Jackson, meditation is what helps him bring his game to the next level.
00:10In a video he sent to the team on Tuesday, Jackson discusses how the practice has helped his approach to the mental side of basketball, saying,
00:30It's hard to say if meditation is the main reason for it, but Jackson has been a revelation since he joined the Clippers in February.
00:41Through nine games, which is an admittedly small sample size, Jackson is averaging 9.5 points per game,
00:47to go along with three rebounds and three assists in just under 20 minutes per contest.
00:51Top it off, he's shooting a career-high 39.8% from the two-point range on the season and 45% from deep with the Clippers.
00:58Fans are skeptical of his fit with the team given L.A.'s abundance of ball-dominant guards,
01:03but if anything, Jackson's presence has made the bench even better.
01:07Improved spacing and movement were evident before the season came to a halt back in March,
01:10and his pairing alongside Lou Williams has worked in both players' favor so far.
01:14Lou's numbers are down a bit as far as averages go, but in the stretch since Jackson came to the team,
01:19he shot 48% from the three-point range in those eight or nine games that he's played in with Jackson.
01:26Time will tell if Jackson truly makes Clippers a better team in the long run,
01:30but for now, it seems like his approach to the game has made a significant difference on his play.
