Marcus Morris and Doc Rivers believe Porzingis shouldn't have been ejected
Transcript
00:00The L.A. Clippers defeated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the playoffs, but it seems like
00:06the bigger story was Kierstep's Porzingis getting ejected in the third quarter.
00:12Now it was an interesting situation because both Porzingis and Paul George got technicals
00:17in the beginning of the game for the same exact motion, pumping their fists, and they
00:21were calling the game tight the entire time.
00:23So what ended up happening was Porzingis and Marcus Morris ended up going at it a little
00:27bit after Morris and Doncic took a little bit of an exception to each other, and it
00:32resulted in a double technical, which is typically a common occurrence that would happen in that
00:37situation.
00:38Unfortunately, Porzingis had a technical from earlier, and it gave him an ejection that
00:41was honestly pretty weak and unwarranted.
00:44It was just kind of one of those situations where, say, a traffic cop pulls over somebody
00:49for going 75 in a 70.
00:52It's breaking the rules, but you can let it slide.
00:55No one on the Clippers agreed with the ejection.
00:58Marcus Morris, who was at the center of the action, didn't believe technical fouls were
01:01necessary at all.
01:02Doc Rivers didn't agree with it.
01:04Luca Doncic didn't agree with it.
01:06And of course, Porzingis didn't agree with it.
01:08Porzingis understood that he needs to get in better control of his emotions so that
01:13he's not in this situation again, because if he had had better control of his emotions
01:17in that first technical of pumping his fists in the air, this wouldn't have been an issue
01:21at all.
01:22Many are looking at Porzingis as the X factor in this series, and the Mavs are going to
01:25need him if they want to have a chance against the LA Clippers.
