Transcript
00:00The L.A. Lakers claimed that they weren't looking forward to facing the L.A. Clippers.
00:05Now it seemed like the entire NBA season, the entire 2020 season,
00:09it was destiny to have the Clippers face the Lakers in the conference finals.
00:13It was a great opening night game. It was a great Christmas game.
00:16It was a great bubble opening night game.
00:18Every single meeting was fantastic.
00:21It brought the ratings. It brought the stars. It brought everything you anticipated and more.
00:25Now, unfortunately for the world, the Clippers couldn't hold up their end of the bargain
00:28as they repeated history from 2015 and blew a 3-1 lead
00:32against the Denver Nuggets in the conference semifinals.
00:34With that being said, both sides seemed to downplay the interaction tremendously.
00:41The Lakers claimed that they weren't looking forward to facing the Clippers.
00:43Kyle Kuzma said they weren't looking at the Clippers.
00:46They weren't paying attention to them. He said they were never focused on them.
00:49LeBron says there was nothing to settle.
00:51And while they say that, and the Clippers, you know, they say the same things on their side,
00:55clearly the words don't seem to speak the same volumes as the actions.
00:59When the Clippers defeated the Lakers on Christmas,
01:02Montrez Harrell was screaming in the tunnel about how that's how you ruin a Christmas.
01:06Anytime the Lakers defeated the Clippers, Jared Dudley would tweet about the team.
01:10LeBron James was pounding his chest when he defeated the Clippers for the first time ever in March.
01:15The entire season advertising campaign by the Clippers,
01:19streetlights over spotlights, was a dig at the Lakers.
01:23So to say that they weren't looking forward to facing each other on either side is a clear and blatant lie.
