00:00The amount of available head coaching jobs in the league is beginning to dwindle. The Brooklyn Nets filled their vacancy by hiring Steve Nash.
00:06The Chicago Bulls reportedly can the terms ex-Thunder head coach Billy Donovan this evening. As it stands,
00:11just five teams, the Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Philadelphia 76ers are in need of a new head coach.
00:19It bodes well for elected assistant Tyronn Lue then that he's drawn interest in at least two of the aforementioned franchises.
00:25On Monday, the Athletics' Sean Strania linked Lue to the Sixers tradition,
00:29according to be brought out to Philadelphia in the near future for the next round of interviews.
00:32Now, Strania also named Donovan as a potential candidate for that job, but obviously he's out of the running now.
00:37Lue's also been connected to Houston, according to the Athletics' Kelly Eco, who said on Monday that he is a, quote,
00:42serious candidate for the job.
00:44Former Rockets guard and fellow Clippers assistant Sam Cassell is also reportedly interested in that job, and the feeling is supposedly mutual.
00:51It seems more likely than not that Lue will be coaching elsewhere next season.
00:55The 43-year-old already has an NBA title to his name and has been to the NBA Finals three times,
01:00all during LeBron James' tenure at the Cleveland Cavaliers.
01:03Lue was also a top candidate for the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job last summer before the franchise decided on hiring Frank Vogel instead.
01:10Now that the Clippers have been limited in the NBA playoffs, Lue will have plenty more time to discuss his future with interested parties.
