00:05 >> How many quarterbacks, DRS, do we see in the first 32 picks of this opening
00:09 round of the 2024 NFL Draft?
00:11 >> I genuinely think we get six off the board here.
00:14 Now typically, it's crazy to think that many, but
00:17 usually we're not fighting for, yeah, by the way, one, two, three is automatically
00:20 gonna be on a quarterback and somebody's rising up the charts to probably get
00:23 in the top five, so that's four out of the way.
00:25 Which again, still gives you a lot more picks and
00:28 the quarterback surge is gonna be off and we see it so many times.
00:31 Forget about what round it is,
00:32 like you remember when it starts, Ben, it'll start every single time.
00:34 Here's the run of tight ends, here's the run of wide receivers,
00:37 you gotta get in while it's hot, and then it cools off.
00:39 But the thing that we talk about quarterbacks and why it's so
00:42 important is sometimes these quarterbacks might be a little bit more development
00:45 is what they need.
00:46 So you say, well, why would that make sense in the first round to do that?
00:49 Well, as we know, if you're a first round draft pick,
00:51 there's an extra year tacked on to your contract.
00:53 And that's very important for quarterbacks where if they don't see the field for
00:56 two or three years, at least you still have them under contract for
00:59 two more years and they can start and then you can reevaluate them.
01:02 As opposed to just burning and
01:03 saying, let me just get the guy in the middle of the second round.
01:06 Now granted, Donnie, what do you mean?
01:08 You have a second round great on this guy,
01:09 you're gonna take him in the first round?
01:10 I just told you why, quarterbacks are a different breed here.
01:13 You evaluate them differently in how long you can hold on to those quarterbacks.
01:16 That's why I believe we're gonna get six, Ben, in round number one.
