While it looks like owners and players have finally started to make strides towards a 2020 season being played, the cost overall of not having a season is just too much for many owners to bear. So just how much would it cost the game if the 2020 MLB season does not get played whatsoever?

00:34 compensation. It's how they qualify for arbitration and for free agency. Not
00:40 coming back also means an entire year away from competition which could affect
00:46 future performance and thereby future earnings. It also would defy teammates
00:52 who do come back and it would signal to fans that they don't care so why should
00:57 the fans? The bottom line is that the cost of not coming back even for a 48
