New landlord of The Rose House pub in Sheffield reveals plans

Nigel Green became the new landlord of The Rose House pub on South Road, Walkley, Sheffield, on April 15.

00:00 Yep, I've worked in Mill Dam at Rotherham which is owned by On Points.

00:05 I only actually worked there for six weeks and then got my own pub.

00:10 I'm Nigel Green and we are at the Rose House in Walkley and we're approached so I'm here.

00:19 Am I right in thinking that you only got off of the pub three weeks ago?

00:22 It is exactly three weeks.

00:24 Oh I mean that's got to be record time for getting hold of a pub.

00:29 Well I don't think anybody's actually done it in that quick.

00:32 And how does it feel to say that this is yours?

00:37 I enjoy it, I enjoy it. The people that come in are absolutely brilliant.

00:42 I know a few of them from previously when I DJ'd here myself and they were actually

00:50 really happy that it were opening up as a pub and not being turned into flats when it closed.

00:56 So my plans is I will be holding things for children on Christmas as well as Halloween.

01:04 I will be putting Christmas parties on for them.

01:07 We also do disco karaoke on a Thursday, Friday night and then just disco on a Saturday.

01:16 I am hoping to put a bingo on on a Friday afternoon for the elderly that are in the area,

01:26 what don't like coming out at night time. So that is my next thing.

01:31 We're also doing pub quiz in a week as well.

01:36 Oh there will be more to come and there'll probably be more

01:40 different things added into it.

01:44 Yeah it sounds like there's something for every member of the community.
