00:06 wants a Malay candidate for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election,

00:10 no matter which component party he or she may come from.

00:14 Sanusi said he will be present at PN Supreme Council meeting

00:18 and that he will suggest that a Malay candidate represent PN,

00:22 Sina Harian reported.

00:25 The constituency has a mixed voter base,

00:27 with more than 40,000 Malay voters forming the majority at 46%,

00:32 followed by Chinese voters, Indians and Orang Asli and others.

00:37 Gerakan President Dominic Lau said yesterday

00:40 his party wants to contest the by-election.

00:44 Sanusi, who is also the Kedah Menteri Besar,

00:46 said he was confident no PN component party would sit out the polls

00:51 if they do not get to contest it.

00:54 The MICC and MCA have both decided to sit out of the by-election,

00:59 but Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said today
