A couple are waiting until marriage to kiss – to "honour" each other and create a "deeper connection".

Rebekah Hurford, 31, and her partner, Kirk Peter, 32, decided to wait until they tie the knot to have sex or make out properly.

The pair do share a peck and hug but put boundaries in place to ensure they don’t cross the line and never spend the night together.

Rebekah and Kirk, who works in video production, were raised as Christian but have both previously been intimate in relationships.

They felt their relationship was "special" and wanted to try holding out to see if it would help create a healthier relationship.

00:00 My name is Kirk. And my name is Rebecca. I live in New York City. We live in Connecticut. We had a
00:04 video go viral on Instagram about how we're doing our relationship. We met through church. You know,
00:12 I live in Connecticut and our church is in Brooklyn in New York, which is about an hour.
00:17 Like now it's an hour and 20 minutes, but it was like about an hour away. But I went anyway. And
00:22 then, and then yeah, one Sunday, I just saw Rebecca in a different way. And I was just like,
00:28 not like we hadn't talked before. I mean, we've done like creative projects and stuff before.
00:32 I mean, I just asked her out. And luckily, she said, Yeah, but now we're here a year,
00:37 a year later, a year or so later, almost. We decided not to like make out until marriage.
00:44 We still may do a little peck. And but we don't make out. We decided not to like sleep together,
00:50 obviously, into marriage. And then he he lives right now he was an hour and a half away. Yeah.
00:55 Um, he's a drive from infant into the city. And he like he doesn't sleep over. He goes back.
01:01 I told Rebecca early on, like, I really want this to work out. So I want to honor you in the way
01:06 that we do this relationship. And I don't want to like, I don't want you to think that I'm like,
01:10 just after your body. I actually told her I was like, Look, I don't even want to kiss you until
01:15 we get married. Which is what I told her. We were just like, yeah, like, actually,
01:19 we can hold some boundaries and respect and honor each other. In that way. It's definitely hard. But
01:25 the hard things are worth it. Like there's just a deeper trust that we have for each other.
01:30 And actually to the cool thing is to a lot of people see that and they're like, man, I really
01:33 want like I want that. I think on the other hand, though, it's also maybe like pushing us to like
01:38 get married quicker, which is something we both want to want to accomplish. We've been talking.
01:41 I'm excited. Don't get me wrong. I am excited, which is like she said before, helping us kind
01:48 of push through to, to get to get to that point to get where we were married. And we're pretty
01:54 sure of each other. And I'm excited. I'm definitely excited when he doesn't have to drive. Oh my gosh.
01:59 Yes. We don't have to commute anymore. And yeah, we can build our lives together.
