00:00 Scott, thank you for joining us. It's a point here today. It might necessarily have been what we deserve from the game, but can I get your overall reflection first?
00:08 Yeah, first half missed opportunities to score. I think we created loads, certainly in the first 20 minutes. I think we could have been 3 or 4 up.
00:17 We didn't take those opportunities and chances. I felt that in the first half we were OK. I thought in the second half we weren't.
00:35 I think we probably played too direct. It became an end-to-end game. It was actually an end-to-end game, probably all game really, which helped them.
00:45 They wanted it to be like that. We spoke about that in the meeting today. We wanted to set the sting out of them and try and play our way and pass the ball and set the sting out of them.
00:55 We gave them something to go on. Their first goal has never been a foul for a start on Smith. Smith just backs in and falls over and the referee gets drawn into it.
01:09 They're so naive it's a joke. He gives a free kick and then there's a high foot. Nick Sarula tries to head the ball and it gets almost kicked in the face.
01:21 The referee doesn't see that and they score off the back of that. So, disappointed with that goal from an official's point of view.
01:33 Their second goal is just calamity again. I don't know what we're doing. We don't need to roll it out. We don't need to just take our time with it at that moment.
01:42 We're still in the game. I felt that we were anxious. I thought we were anxious today with our play, certainly in the second half.
01:48 We're coming at half-time. We're in front. We're happy. We feel as if we can play more. Of course, in the second half we didn't. So, disappointed.
02:00 Their goalkeepers made a string of excellent saves to keep us at bay before we've gone 1-0 up.
02:04 Is it most disappointing for you going in at half-time, 1-0 up and not taking full advantage from there?
02:10 No, because you're 1-0 up, so you take that. But, of course, we've created so many chances in that first half.
02:15 You can almost feel that it was going to be not our day. Because of the chances created, you just feel it was going to go the wrong way for us.
02:24 But we kept going, kept going, scored a great goal. Thought it was a brilliant goal.
02:28 We worked on Dion and Corey having a 2v1 with Smith on goal kicks and getting Corey out to play.
02:36 We knew they were quite narrow as a back four to play Harry Foster in down the line.
02:40 If you watch the goal back, it's exactly how we got in that final third. And a great finish from Liam Kelly.
02:47 We were being happy to pin more goals up, of course, but we wasn't. So, we'll take it at 1-0.
02:53 But I felt as if we never controlled or played our style of football in the second half at all.
03:02 In fact, it wasn't even end-to-end. It was end, our end, where they just put pressure on us and we couldn't get out.
03:08 We played long balls, after long balls, after long balls. And, yes, we were just very edgy today.
03:15 Yes, we obviously picked out the positives. Again, great character shown by the lads.
03:18 To come back into the game, which, as you say, all looked dead and buried at one stage, but Claudio's come out and scored.
03:24 He's scored a decent goal that keeps the hopes alive. It's an important point at the end of the day.
03:28 And where we've been saying it's been in our hands, it maybe not necessarily is anymore.
03:33 So, it's still all to play for with one game to go, isn't it?
03:36 Yes, I've had to go into the dressing room and remain positive with the players, obviously, because we have got one big push left.
03:44 And, listen, anything can happen, can't it?
03:47 And not only, we don't need to be looking below us, we need to be looking above us as well.
03:52 We've got a lot of crew drop points today, so there's a lot to play for still. Forget Doncaster, you look at Barra and crew and we've got a lot to play for still.
04:01 So, we've just got one final push. Listen, we've one game to go and we're still in the play-offs.
04:06 Brilliant, brilliant season. But it will be disappointing if we don't make it.
04:12 Yes, still a lot to push on for, a lot for the fans to be positive about. They were excellent today, weren't they?
04:16 Fantastic, yes, class. I've come out before the game, before the players even come out, just to go over and show my appreciation to them.
04:23 They're fantastic. They really supported us throughout the game today, even though we didn't play very well.
04:28 And I'm sad that we haven't given them three points to go down the road with.
04:30 But they were class at the end there, even. A lot of them shouting to me, 'One more, one more, one more game. Keep pushing.'
04:36 Which we will, and I know they will as well. They've been brilliant all season and they were brilliant today.
04:41 Thank you, Scott.
04:42 Thank you.
04:43 Scott, you said it wasn't quite the performance you wanted. Would you put it down to how Sutton played or is it just a bit of head-to-head?
04:48 Yes, of course. I think a bit of both, maybe. I think that we knew that it was going to be a scrap and a battle.
04:53 They want to make it that. They want to make it that.
04:57 And we discussed that at the hotel this morning. We discussed it in the week about, they'll be direct, there will be balls flying forward,
05:05 there will be second balls to contend for. But there has to be a point where we put the foot on the ball and pass the ball and get our control.
05:12 I felt we never really did that today.
05:14 And what's your message to the players and the fans going into this huge final weekend?
05:18 It's not over, is my message. It's not over. It's never over until it's over and it's not.
05:22 We've got loads to play for still and we're very much still in it.
05:27 There's a lot that can happen between now and five o'clock next week, next Saturday.
05:32 So we've just got to keep believing and keep the spirits high.
05:36 I've just said to the players in there, 'Come on, it's gone now. It's finished. There's nothing we can do about it.
05:39 No point shouting and swearing at each other and being upset. It's gone.
05:43 We have to now have one more final push because you never know what can happen.
05:47 And like I say, don't worry about what's going on below us.
05:49 We need to look at what's going on above us as well because people are having a nervy finish now.
05:53 Obviously, tension seemed to spill over at the end there. Can you tell us anything about what happened at the end?
05:59 No.
06:00 And the Aussie goal, if you look back at it, was it offside?
06:03 Offside.
06:04 Thank you, Scott.
06:05 Thank you.
06:06 Okay, any more for Gary?
06:08 *random gibberish*
