Transcript
00:00 Thanks for joining us Stephen. Great debut today for North Warrnambool. How are you feeling?
00:04 Yeah, good. Pulled up pretty well and the boys got a pretty good win.
00:08 Against a good side in Port Ferry so pretty wrapped.
00:12 In your own performance, played predominantly across half-back but moved around a little bit. What did you make of it?
00:16 Yeah, a little bit half-back. I sort of played a bit more half-back up in Darwin as well.
00:20 So I said to Vardzia I'll just come down and help the boys out back there.
00:24 Even went through a bit of midfield as well. So as a collective we played really well and got a good win.
00:28 Out there you were quite vocal, helping the boys out. How important is that to you to play that role as well?
00:34 Yeah, definitely. I've got a little bit of experience in football so to help everyone around me is what I want to do.
00:40 We've got some young guys in the side as well so I'm sure they're happy to hear the feedback.
00:46 We've had a good win.
00:48 What did you make of the stand of the Hanson League? Obviously your first time playing?
00:52 Yeah, it's good. Obviously smaller ground so it's a pretty contested contest. Yeah, very good standard.
00:58 Have to get you out on the big red oval at one stage.
01:00 Yeah, hopefully one day. Might come back and play a couple more as well.
01:04 Obviously got the good connection with Nathan Vardy down here and I said to him I always wanted to come down and have a game with him.
01:10 North Warnell have been great and had open arms and welcomed me into the club so very grateful.
01:14 Obviously Nathan being one of your close mates, how proud of him are you to see him coaching now?
01:20 Yeah, it's good. I've known Nathan for about 15 years now so a long friendship and he's turned into a great coach and obviously a great mate of mine.
01:29 Well, I wish you the best of luck for the rest of the year when you come back.
01:31 Thank you, cheers.
01:32 Cheers.
