00:00 The Public Estates Tollway Corporation has filed a court of appeals

00:05 asking for control of Cavite Toll Expressway or Cavitex.

00:10 The government is losing in the income it receives when it comes to toll collection.

00:16 This was discovered by the current head of Cavite Infrastructure Corporation,

00:21 Sandra Aguinaldo.

00:27 The Public Estates Tollway Corporation or PAYA-TC

00:31 said that the government should transfer the responsibility of collecting tolls

00:34 to Cavitex or Cavite Toll Expressway.

00:37 The Operation and Maintenance Agreement of Cavite Infrastructure Corporation or CIC

00:42 was just completed in 2021.

00:46 The PAYA-TC has already filed a court of appeals to ask for the read of mandamus

00:51 to get control of the expressway.

00:54 What is the mandate of mandamus? To return the operation,

02:09 CIC is a unit of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation or MPTC.

02:15 Although the CIC's operation and maintenance agreement has expired,

02:20 their operation and service contract with Cavitex is still in effect.

02:25 It is also not right for the share of the tolls to be 60/40 in favor of the government.
