Bright but breezy on Friday with sunny spells and locally strong winds. More settled over the weekend as high pressure builds and arctic air is plunged southwards.

00:00 Hello there. On Thursday, outbreaks of rain will sink southwards and eastwards across
00:09 the UK and will turn increasingly patchy later in the day. The best of the dry and bright
00:14 weather with some sunny spells will be for south-west to England as high pressure will
00:18 begin to edge in from the west. Now as we move into Friday, low pressure will be located
00:23 to the east of the UK with high pressure to the west and this will generate a cool northerly
00:27 airflow which will become established on Friday. This will bring a bright but breezy day, we'll
00:33 have some sunny spells but there will also be some showers around and these will turn
00:36 increasingly less frequent later in the day and our winds will also ease. Fairly blustery
00:43 and breezy though for north sea coastal areas with some strong northerly winds possible.
00:49 Turning more settled as we move into the weekend as high pressure dominates, we'll have some
00:53 calm and settled conditions with periods of sunshine and as we move into next week, high
00:57 pressure will remain close by.
