00:00Well, there you go. I probably should have known that.
00:02Yeah, I had to look it up.
00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:06And today, we're counting down every Easter egg and callback
00:09we were able to catch in Bluey's longest episode yet.
00:12Needless to say, major spoilers ahead.
00:15Let me show you mama's sign.
00:17Oh, of course.
00:20Number 20. Poor Jeremy.
00:22This poor gnome has been through it.
00:24Poor Jeremy.
00:26Jeremy is constantly seen taking falls,
00:29hits, and other generally objectionable behavior.
00:32The sign, unfortunately, does not afford him any breaks.
00:36The gnomes are set out on the front lawn in their wedding attire,
00:39which makes them very conveniently placed for Frisky's outburst.
00:51Even before she kicks him, though,
00:53a small crack is visible on his hat from what is likely the ramifications
00:57of the bandit-initiated incident several episodes earlier.
01:04If even Jeremy was unable to come out unscathed,
01:07we hate to see whatever damage Bandit took.
01:14Number 19. Husband.
01:16Husband has to be one of our favorite bingo bits ever.
01:23Should we have a nice slow dinner at the restaurant?
01:26Sure thing, babe.
01:27For being just five years old,
01:29she's remarkably good at pretending to be a devoted husband.
01:32From the deepened voice to the mustache to her signature catchphrase,
01:36bingo has husband down pat.
01:38Oh, it looks so good, babe.
01:41So much so that even with zero dialogue and a makeshift stash,
01:45he's still recognizable.
01:47At the end of the sign when the healers have set up dinner in the empty playroom,
01:51there's a moment where bingo balances a fry under her nose
01:54and transforms right before our eyes.
02:07We guess husband is also happy the healers get to keep their home, babe.
02:11Number 18. Pretzels Mums.
02:14Any scene with the kids from Glass House Primary is always a gem,
02:18and this scene is no exception.
02:20After Calypso finishes reading the first story to the class,
02:23we get some great tidbits from the kids.
02:25One of them is from Pretzel, who, it turns out, has two mums.
02:35We're always excited to see more diverse representation in children's programming,
02:40and this small mention from Pretzel hopefully means we'll get to meet them down the line.
02:44Well, I guess you can sit in my bed if you want.
02:48Oh, thanks. I won't take up much room.
02:52I'm a fisherman.
02:54Also featured in this scene is a sweet callback to the episode Army.
02:57Jack has loved playing Army with Rusty so much,
03:00he can't fathom conscription being something people would rather avoid.
03:04Why didn't he want to join the Army?
03:06Number 17. The Fruit Bats.
03:09If you were too blinded by your tears to see the credits when they rolled,
03:12we don't blame you for missing this one.
03:14After we pan up to the night sky and some of the crew's names show up on screen,
03:19a horde of bats begin to fly across.
03:30This is, of course, a callback to the fan-favorite episode Fruit Bat.
03:34In that episode, Bluey wishes she could be one
03:37so she wouldn't have to go to bed since the bats are nocturnal.
03:41Somehow, though, we can't imagine she was very sad to go to sleep in her house that night.
03:45It's such a perfect way to close out the story.
03:56Number 16. The Police Officer.
03:59The subtleties in this show always elevate the show to a whole new level.
04:03The show's main character, the Police Officer,
04:05is a man who's always on the lookout for the police.
04:08The subtleties in this show always elevate it so much.
04:14Just like the humor in Bandit and Chili's dog-related occupations,
04:18the Police Officer in this episode is none other than a German Shepherd,
04:22the same breed that is typically recruited as police service dogs in our world.
04:26We doubt every cop in the Bluey universe is a German Shepherd,
04:30but it's certainly a cute addition to the episode.
04:33Another similar detail is with the couple who first buy the healer's house.
04:41The kids call them the dogs with no eyes, but in reality, they're water dogs.
04:50No wonder they want a pool so badly.
04:52Number 15. Bingo's Big Girl Bark.
04:55Bingo's Big Girl Bark is a dog that's known for being a big girl.
04:59Number 15. Bingo's Big Girl Bark.
05:02Bingo's used her big girl bark a handful of times since Yoga Ball,
05:06and we've even heard Bluey use hers on occasion.
05:16After all, being able to draw boundaries and stand up for yourself is important.
05:29Number 16. Bingo's Big Girl Bark.
05:31Bingo has just finished drawing faces on her feet,
05:34one of which is named Tina by the way, when the mover sees her table.
05:38Once she catches them removing Bluey's bed from the house though, all bets are off.
05:48She barks after them and it's every bit as cute as it is heart-tugging.
05:53As it turns out, the only reason Bingo has been so easy-going with the selling of the house
05:57is because she didn't realize they wouldn't be able to live in it anymore.
06:06Number 14. Cat Squad.
06:08It could not be more endearing that these anthropomorphic dogs watch a cartoon about cats.
06:22Cat Squad is seen in a few different episodes,
06:25either directly or through cameos, with its introduction coming in season two's library.
06:31In the end credits of that episode, we get to hear what is presumably the theme song to the show.
06:48The kids must all be pretty big fans because not only does Uncle Stripe have the song stuck in his head,
06:53Bandit does too.
07:00They both walk into the room belting out to it.
07:07Number 13. Chocolate Milk and Cherry.
07:11There are always a plethora of characters making up the backgrounds of the Bluey world,
07:15many of whom we're very familiar with.
07:17In The Sign, we actually get to follow up on Chocolate Milk and Cherry from Trades.
07:24They were having some sort of dispute in that episode, which luckily got resolved by the end.
07:44We're not sure how much time has passed since,
07:46but we get the reassurance that things are still going good for them
07:50as they can be seen standing together at the lookout.
07:53If you squint, you'll find them looking through the pair of binoculars over from the water dogs.
08:06Number 12. Greeny.
08:08In the transition from the girls being sad under the sold sign,
08:11to the lookout where the water dogs are, two things can be seen milling about the sky.
08:23The first is a bird with an orange head and white belly.
08:30Keen-eyed viewers might recognize this as the same bird Brandy sees in onesies
08:35when she's lying on the grass.
08:43Considering the significant development Brandy has in this episode,
08:46we'd say that it's not just a happy accident either.
08:49The second object in the sky is, of course, everyone's favorite balloon from Mom's School.
08:55After Greeny floated away at the end of that episode,
08:58it's super heartwarming to know he's still out there floating on.
09:08Number 11. Mount Kootha.
09:10It's Mount Kootha for real life.
09:13Native Aussies might have made the connection to the IRL Summit lookout from the animation alone,
09:18but for the rest of us, we had to do our best with the, forgive the pun, signs.
09:28When Chilly gets out of the car and sees the sign for the lookout,
09:31her ears are covering a bit of the block text, but the location is actually spelled out for us.
09:48Bluie is quite known for situating its locations in real-life places by copying
09:53architecture and other identifiable details, so this keeps nicely in theme with that.
10:06Number 10. Socks' development.
10:09For a good portion of the show, Socks could be seen on all fours and she was often non-verbal.
10:14This makes sense considering Socks is a good deal younger than Bluie, Bingo, and Muffin.
10:25As the series has progressed, so too has Socks.
10:39She's walking on two legs in this episode and easily keeping up with the other girls,
10:43and we've never felt more like proud parents.
10:46We've also been getting some Muffin character development lately,
10:49which continues into this episode when she can be seen buckling Socks' seatbelt for her.
11:00Number 9. Flossing.
11:03We always love an episode where we get to see Rita and Janet make an appearance.
11:08The very beginnings came in Grannies,
11:10which showcased some really brilliant problem solving for a then six-year-old.
11:14Bingo wants to floss as a granny, but Bluie insists they wouldn't know how.
11:19Her first solution, which is to ring her nana to ask as much, pans out poorly.
11:36Obviously, they have no idea about this relatively new dance move.
11:40In order to make two things true at once,
11:42Bluie decides to teach her grandparents the move over facey talk.
11:46They must have taken a liking to it because, during the wedding,
11:49the two are seen tearing it up on the dance floor.
11:55Number 8. The DJ.
11:58Everyone knows a good party all comes down to the music.
12:02Luckily, Frisky and Rad are in good hands.
12:04The DJ they hired is actually the busker from Markets,
12:08who Bluie gave her Tooth Fairy money to.
12:23He must be the only busker in town because he's also seen at the end of Dance Mode
12:28when the whole family dances to his performance.
12:30It's possible he remembered the Heeler family, or maybe they just requested the tune,
12:35but either way, that same song is played during the wedding's big dance scene.
12:49Number 7. Bucky Dunstan.
12:52So the whole Bluie fandom has beef with this guy, right?
12:56Let's see your drawing skills, Dunstan.
12:58In Dragon, we get some sweet parent lore and a great lesson.
13:02You don't get good at something by giving up.
13:05Bandit learns that one the hard way.
13:07The kid who criticized his art goes by Bucky Dunstan,
13:10who Bandit offhandedly mentions he thinks became a real estate agent.
13:25We thought this was a one-off joke.
13:27Little did we know we'd get to see this punk all grown up and worse,
13:31trying to sell the Heeler home.
13:33It's kind of hilarious to see that, even today, Banditus is still not especially charmed by him.
13:44Number 6. The song that made us all burst into tears on the spot.
13:48It's impossible to deny the downright magic of the Bluie soundtrack,
13:52and the crew really went all out for the sign.
14:04That song, at the end, you know, the one that helped along all our sobbing,
14:10was actually written and sung by Calypso's voice actress.
14:13Her name is Megan Washington, and she's a musician for real life,
14:16which makes a lot of sense when you consider
14:19how stunning Calypso's voice is in the small snippets we've heard from her.
14:33The ballad is called Lazarus Drug,
14:37which doesn't quite sound like a Bluie song if you went off the title alone.
14:49Upon hearing it, however, we instantly know it's something special.
15:03Number 5. Grandpa Bob.
15:08In Bedroom, we get an odd little throwaway line from Bingo.
15:12At least, it seems like a throwaway line.
15:17Why would she say goodnight to Grandpa Bob,
15:19and even weirder, why does she not know where he is?
15:23We get our answer in the sign.
15:25Apparently, he's been off in India, finding himself.
15:34While this is a funny explanation for kids,
15:44it's also led some older viewers to speculate that Grandpa Bob
15:47may be experiencing some form of dementia or Alzheimer's disease,
15:51and has been wandering off.
15:53It definitely put a damper on things,
15:55but we wouldn't be surprised if we saw these breadcrumbs pan out in a later episode.
16:00Number 4. First Steps.
16:02Callbacks are often fun, but this one hurts.
16:06Baby Race made us all ugly cry with its message of running your own race.
16:10That iconic scene where Chilly turns around in the kitchen
16:13to find Baby Bluie taking her first steps is referenced twice in the sign.
16:17Why did I decide to walk in the kitchen?
16:20I don't know, sweetie.
16:25Maybe you just saw something you wanted.
16:29The first is when Chilly admits she doesn't want to sell the house.
16:32So, you don't want to move either?
16:34Of course I don't want to leave, Bluie.
16:37You took your first steps in that house.
16:39The second comes later on, when the family is lamenting about leaving.
16:43Chilly stands in that same spot of the kitchen looking downcast,
16:46and it hits so hard.
16:49To end this entry on a lighter note,
16:51just before this scene, we see Bluie sitting on the front porch with headphones on.
17:01For fans of the show's music,
17:02you'll likely recognize this as the cover art for Bluie the album.
17:07Number 3. Brandy.
17:09After the episode that left everyone in puddles of tears,
17:12the sight of Brandy had us leaping off our couches.
17:15I tell you what, next time I come over, I'm not bringing any onesies.
17:20We don't know what changed between now and onesies, but it doesn't matter.
17:24Brandy shows up to the wedding with, what's the right expression here,
17:28a pup in the cup?
17:29That metaphor probably needs more work, but we could not be more excited.
17:34She represented so much to so many people,
17:36so we can't imagine the decision to have her become pregnant was easily made by the writers.
17:41You know how you really want Bingo's cheetah onesie?
17:44Yeah, more than anything.
17:46But it doesn't fit you, so you can't have it.
17:48And there's not really anything anyone can do to make it fit.
17:52Yeah.
17:53Well, there's something Auntie Brandy wants more than anything as well.
17:58As Calypso says, however, life gives us enough sad endings,
18:02so we're glad Brandy got her happy one.
18:04Why do stories always have happy endings?
18:07Well, I guess because life will give us enough sad ones.
18:11Number 2. Winton's Dad's House.
18:14What we thought was a sweet but insignificant background exchange
18:17ends up being a huge plot point in Bluey's 28-minute episode.
18:20When the water dogs are at the lookout and they spot a house
18:23that looks perfect through the binoculars,
18:25we see Winton's dad and the terrier's mom out front embracing.
18:29Hey, hang on. What's this?
18:31What's what?
18:32There's a house for sale, and it's beautiful.
18:35Oh, don't tell me that.
18:37The last we saw of them was in TV shop,
18:39when Winton's dad made sure he had good breath
18:42before approaching the terrier's mom and the chemist.
18:44The next update was the terriers mentioning to Winton
18:47that their mom likes his dad, and the rest is apparently history.
18:51My dad doesn't live with my mom, and now he's lonely all the time.
18:56How mom likes your dad.
18:58If you really want to have your mind blown,
19:00Winton's dad's house was first mentioned even further back in Helicopter,
19:04when he's dropped off and lands in the house's pool.

19:37Number 1.
19:38The Butterfly Effect
19:40This entire list has made clear that the Bluey crew is paying attention.
19:44What if you didn't?
19:45What would happen then?
19:47Probably nothing, I suppose.
19:48Leela and Bingo save a caterpillar and slide.
19:51This caterpillar then cocoons into a blue butterfly they name Flappy.
19:55Flappy appears when Chilly and the kids pull over in their search for Frisky,
19:59and indirectly leads them in the right direction.
20:02Oh, hello Flappy.
20:03Good to see you again.
20:05Finding Frisky at the lookout leads to the coin Bluey picked up getting stuck in the tray,
20:09and the Water Dogs later using it in order to spot Winton's dad's place
20:13and back out on their offer for the healer's house.
20:15Oh look, someone's put a coin in the wrong slot.
20:21Oh, that was lucky.
20:23The Butterfly Effect actually travels even further back when you realize that,
20:27had Bandit not taken the extra time to wind up Bingo and Daddy drop off,
20:31she may not have befriended Leela, and the two may have never saved the caterpillar.
20:35Oh, lucky.
20:47That's lucky.
20:48Were you able to spot the Long Dog in this episode?
