00:17 While you're probably already thinking you're not sure if this counts,
00:20 you're probably also thinking that you just don't care whether it does because it's just so darn good.
00:25 That's how we feel too.
00:26 "Bingo!"

00:32 "Bluey!"
00:33 And if the extended versions and hour-long loops on YouTube are any indication,
00:38 we're not the only ones who love it.
00:40 Its melody feels perfectly on theme with the comforting, feel-good tone of the show.

00:48 Not to mention, the brilliance of this opening is that the Heeler family is actually playing
00:53 a game of musical statues, and their introductions come as they're eliminated.

01:08 It's like we get a mini-episode right here in the intro.
01:10 Number 9, The Lollipop Song.
01:14 There's a lot to take away from this episode's take on negative emotional states.
01:17 We get a few ideas about how we can try to shake off bad moods,
01:21 including listening to your favorite music.

01:29 Even if it's nearly impossible to make out lyrics, it's such a fun, bubbly pop tune.
01:34 We can see why the kids enjoy it so much.

01:44 For older fans, there's something a bit Nyan Cat-esque about it.
01:48 Maybe it's just the high-pitched vocals.
01:49 Nostalgic or not, one thing is for sure,
01:52 it is impossible to be in a bad mood after listening to this song.

01:58 Number 8, Waltz of the Flowers.

02:06 Get kids acquainted with the classics early.
02:08 Still, it might be worth having the young'uns see the Nutcracker before this episode of
02:13 Bluey so they can understand the reference, too.
02:15 When Bingo and Bluey get caught up in how much ice cream the other is allowed to take from their cone,
02:20 they end up in a waltz around town, accompanied by only the finest orchestral piece.
02:25 "No, your toes are too far!"
02:27 "No, but, but, they don't know that much."
02:29 "Kids, what are you doing?"
02:32 There's drama, there's emotion, and there's even a beautiful garden background.

02:46 Unbeknownst to the girls, their ice cream is melting throughout this whole dance.
02:50 But that's a conflict for another list.
02:52 Number 7, Bandit's Irish Dance.
02:55 We'll be the first to say it, Bandit's got some moves.
02:58 Evidence A, those lawnmower dance moves in the intro.
03:02 Evidence B, his big pastel-tinged number in "Work".
03:05 Evidence C, his sweet romantic duet with Chili.
03:09 And finally, the bulk of this entry and yet another piece of evidence, his Irish jig.

03:17 This one, however, represents more than some groovy fun or an artistic display.
03:22 It's his apology to Bingo for having dismissed her and hurt her feelings earlier.
03:26 It's also a gesture that brings home these heartwarming words.
03:29 "If I've ever hurt your feelings, I'm really sorry, mate.
03:33 Must feel really bad when your dad does that.
03:35 Just know that I love you, kid, and I'd do anything for you."
03:40 Number 6, The Chicken Rat Egg Song.
03:43 There are tons of uses of famous classical music in "Bluie", and this is yet another instance.
03:49 In one of the earliest episodes of the show, "Hospital",
03:52 we get a rather horribly on-the-nose picture of many medical systems.
03:56 "Well, my belly hurts."
03:58 "Have you got a baby in there?"
04:00 "No, I don't think so."
04:01 "Nurse, do an x-ray on the big blue guy, please. I think there's a baby in there."
04:06 When Dr. Bluie and Nurse Bingo put Bandit, or Telemachus, under anesthesia,
04:11 Bingo gives us a fun rendition of Johannes Brahms' lullaby,
04:14 which puts Telemachus right to sleep.
04:16 "Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep, big Telemachus. He's asleep."
04:25 Later on in the episode "Chicken Rat", we'd get yet another rendition.
04:29 This one decidedly more funny.
04:31 "Laying egg, laying egg, laying chicken rat egg for our breakfast."
04:41 We're not sure we would want to eat a chicken rat egg for breakfast, but to each their own.
04:45 Number 5. The Dream Sequence
04:48 This might just be one of the coolest and most visually appealing sequences in the series,
04:53 and the musical accompaniment is a nice addition to boot.
04:56 Bluie wants to be a fruit bat, except it's bedtime.
04:59 Her compromise is to try dreaming about being one.
05:02 The music shift and slight echo to the voices as we transition
05:06 from reality to dreamland seamlessly is wonderfully ethereal.
05:09 "It didn't work."
05:11 "Oh well, you tried."
05:13 "Where did Dad go?"
05:15 "He's outside."
05:16 And then Bluie begins to fly, and the instrumental really kicks off.
05:26 It's rather reminiscent of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust,
05:29 though the fruit bat song seems to be entirely original to the show.
05:33 Either way, it is the perfect vibe for the magic that is the subconscious world of dreams.
05:38 "See you, Dad!"
05:40 "Wow."
05:48 Number 4. The Whole Episode
05:52 "Rain" is almost entirely void of dialogue, which means there's lots of room for music to shine.
05:58 There's some conflicting information about exactly which songs play and what their titles are,
06:03 but the first seems to be an instrumental of rain boldly in the pretend.
06:07 The other is apparently titled "Rainbow," which is pretty fitting.
06:19 Details aside, the episode is absolutely stunning.
06:22 It leans into a small moment where Bluie wants to create a dam in the front yard,
06:26 in contrast with her mom who's trying to keep her house clean.
06:29 It's beautifully told in tandem with the soft, bright melodies,
06:40 and the story ends up being a really touching one.
06:48 Number 3. Gustav Holst's "Jupiter"
06:51 Here's an animated sequence that's completely transformed by the score.
06:55 Holst's "Jupiter" really makes Bingo and Floppy's journey through space epic.
06:59 Largely considered one of the best episodes in the entire series,
07:11 Sleepytime follows Bingo as she tries to get through the night by herself
07:15 and wake up in her own bed. It's masterfully executed,
07:19 balancing parallels between the real world and Bingo's dream in a way that's so full of charm.
07:24 "Jupiter" is there with Bingo through all the highs and lows of this night,
07:34 and it works phenomenally. The ending always gets us in our feels.
07:38 "I'll always be here for you, even if you can't see me, because I love you."
07:45 Number 2. Poor Little Bug
07:52 Any time Bingo sings is an absolute treat,
07:55 mainly because of just how adorable her voice and speech are.
07:58 We get to hear her carry a tune on a few occasions, often rather randomly.
08:02 "I'm a digger, strong and tough. Beep, beep, beep, get out of my way. I need to dig the ground today."
08:11 But perhaps no instance is as special as "Poor Little Bug."
08:16 "Poor little bug on the wall, ding-ching. No one to love him at all, ding-ching."
08:22 The song is recurring enough throughout the episode that it becomes obvious that
08:25 it's representational in some aspect. When Bingo sings it sadly after being
08:29 abandoned by Judo and Bluey, the parallels between the titular Bug and how Bingo feels
08:34 at that current moment become palpable.
08:36 "Poor little bug on the wall, ding-ching. No one to love him at all, ding-ching."
08:44 Bluey also mentions that Judo has no one to play with,
08:47 so the song may be linked to her as well. In any case, the sister bonding moment where
08:52 Bluey apologizes might just be one of the best in the whole series.
08:56 "No one to tickle his toes, ding-ching. No one to blow his nose, ding-ching."
09:04 Before we unveil our top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
09:12 "Ode to Joy." Nothing like some Beethoven to underscore perseverance and triumph.
09:17 "Go, Bentley, you can do it!"
09:24 "Yes! Go, Bethan!"
09:26 "I know a place. The Creek Song. Check out the version from the album with lyrics."
09:35 "Shake it out."
09:46 We go through a whole range of music genres in this scene.
09:49 "Let's put some real music on. All right, that's what I'm talking about. Get that body moving.

09:59 "The Runaway Piano." An endearing moment from the very first episode.

10:53 For a storyline that's so important, there sure is a lot of dancing. Then again,
11:06 what is Bluey if not a show that balances real heavy lessons with some dancing?
11:10 We're treated to Chilly and Bandit making amends to Bingo after their combined efforts led to
11:15 Bandit eating Bingo's last fry. There's some healthy behavior to take away here,
11:20 like the importance of parents acknowledging their mistakes and seeking redemption.
11:24 "How can we make it up to you, Bingo?" "Yeah, name your price."
11:27 "Ah, I know! Dance mode!" "Oh, not dance mode."
11:35 Even more important are the lessons of holding your ground and also being careful not to trot
11:40 over the will of others. In the end, this makes for some retribution dancing, but also a whole
11:46 lot of fun. "Ready?" "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm doing this for my kids." "Dance mode!"
