00:00 Well, it's day two of Donald Trump's hush money trial in New York
00:02 This is the first time a former US president has faced criminal trial and finding jurors who can be impartial is proving to be a
00:10 Tough task already dozens of potential jurors have been dismissed after admitting
00:14 They didn't think they could be unbiased when considering Trump's guilt or innocence
00:18 Six have been selected so far the former president is accused of 34 felony counts of falsifying
00:25 business records to cover up a hush payment to the porn star Stormy Daniels in the run-up to the
00:31 2016 election or correspondent Jessica LaMigurie is covering the trial for us from New York
00:37 This is the second day of jury selection in Trump's criminal trial here in New York City
00:43 But selecting an impartial jury in Manhattan is a tricky task. Trump's one of the most famous people in the world
00:49 So everyone has an opinion on him and here in New York where most people are Democrat
00:55 Trump who is a New York native is not well loved on the whole yet
00:59 The judge has said that it doesn't matter if a juror is a Democrat or Republican
01:03 Or if they have personal opinions about Trump provided they can be objective
01:08 The quest is on to find a jury of 12 people and six alternates who can give Trump a fair trial
01:15 Jurors are being asked a list of 42 questions
01:18 Such as which news outlets they read if they're part of a pro or anti Trump group
01:24 That sort of thing on Monday about 50 jurors excuse themselves for bias reasons already
01:29 The jury election process is really key. The judge is going to be watching closely for anyone who's lying
01:34 Anyone who has an agenda to convict or acquit Trump
01:37 That's what you call a stealth juror someone who claims to be fair
01:40 But is not the prosecution may be watching for anyone who could make this a hung jury all the Trump team really needs is one
01:47 Holdout for that to happen Trump would not be acquitted
01:50 But he would also not be convicted if the jury failed to reach a decision now Trump's perhaps most memorable
01:56 courtroom reaction on Tuesday came in response to comments from a juror who said that he'd read some of Trump's books the art of the
02:01 Deal and how to be rich Trump look very pleased about that
02:05 Well jury selection is expected to take a week or two. The trial is due to last between six to eight weeks
02:11 That was our correspondent from New York. Jessica Limer, jury a reporting next to Denmark
