Transcript
00:00 Following the official approval of the largest drug in the history of the country,
00:06 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is reporting to the illegal drug syndicates that operate in the Philippines.
00:14 Kenneth Paciente is back.
00:16 The government will strengthen its response to the problem of illegal drugs.
00:22 That's what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. insisted
00:26 during his inspection of the illegal drugs in Bat-sa-Ali-Tagtag in the province of Batangas.
00:32 According to the President, although he has no quick solution here,
00:36 the government and authorities will continue to work to open the circulation of drugs in the country.
00:42 We really need to work. We have to operate. We have to gather intelligence.
00:48 We have to coordinate with Interpol. We have to coordinate with intelligence and drug agencies of other countries around,
00:58 of Asia, of Asia, wherever they come from, because this is an international crime.
01:05 The Executive Board also stated that this is the largest drug in the Bat-sa-Ali-Tagtag authorities,
01:11 which is estimated to weigh 1.8 tons and is worth less than P13 billion.
01:17 On the other hand, the President insisted that no one was injured or killed in the operation,
01:22 which is what the current administration is pushing when it comes to the issue of illegal drugs.
01:27 So the Executive Board insisted that there should be no change in this approach.
01:31 Why will we change? Look at the success that we have gained.
01:34 As I said, not only this 1.8 tons, the many, many tons that we have already seized.
01:39 So it's much more than it has been in the past.
01:44 So it is the most successful approach to the drug war so far.
01:48 So why will we change it? We won't change it. We'll continue to do what we are doing.
01:53 Following this, President Marcos Jr. insisted that the government will not approve this campaign against illegal drugs.
02:01 What we are doing is we take apart, we are taking apart the syndicates.
02:09 Anyone we see who is involved in the drug trade,
02:18 anyone, even politicians, powerful politicians, police, or anyone,
02:25 we are really investigating them.
02:28 The President will also be careful with the drug syndicates.
02:31 You can do whatever you want. We will just continue. We will reach you. The Philippines is small.
02:39 The authorities are continuing to investigate the illegal drugs,
02:43 particularly where it originated.
02:45 The President also introduced PNP Alitagtag to the head of the police, Captain Luis De Luna Jr.
02:50 for the successful operation that resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs.
02:55 De Luna was also promoted and given cash assistance of P100,000.
03:01 Kenneth Paciente for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
