00:00 How are you going? Nick Hanley from Elders in Blackall with the Blackall marker report.
00:05 We had a 5,000, over 5,000 head here today at our sale. Fairly wet conditions with an inch to
00:12 four inches in the area. We had a very strong panel of buoys attending particularly on the
00:19 lighter steers. Going back to the paddock the steer job saw a significant increase
00:23 with a significant increase also in the buoy panel. That's where we saw the best of the job
00:27 was in the light steers. Okay and tell me what prices you saw here today? The best of the light
00:33 steers, some good quality sander steers got to four dollars thirty and the heifers are still
00:39 selling currently. Not a great deal of heavy feeder steers to quote. And how's that on recent markets?
00:47 Significantly better. We've had a couple weeks off here at Blackall due to Easter.
00:52 The Easter spells our wiener sale has now fallen this week at the start of April
00:56 and yeah we'll be selling weekly. We've got plenty of cattle booked for next week.
01:01 Do you think prices have had an effect on the numbers here today? Yeah I think the weather's
01:06 probably the main increase. We've seen significant rain about and everyone's planting or green or wet
01:13 so it's only can go forwards from here. Positive times. Good to have a few smiles on faces.
01:19 Isn't it? That's right absolutely.
