00:00 Senator Joel Villanueva has signed a resolution condemning the bombing of the China's water cannon on May 1 and 4.
00:08 Meanwhile, the congressmen have divided their opinions on the administration's involvement in the issue of the West Philippine Sea.
00:15 This is what Daniel Manalastas reported.
00:19 Senator Joel Villanueva signed a resolution condemning the recent harassment, illegal and dangerous actions of the China Coast Guard and the Chinese Maritime Militia in the West Philippine Sea.
00:31 The Executive Branch is also signing a resolution condemning the legal and diplomatic violations of China's actions.
00:39 One of the resolutions was the incident on March 23 where the UNIZA May 4 water cannon bombed the resupply boat heading to BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin, Seoul.
00:51 Meanwhile, the congressmen have divided their opinions on the administration's involvement in the issue of the West Philippine Sea.
00:57 For House Deputy Majority Leader Janet Garin, it is best if the trade relations between the Philippines and China do not get in the way.
01:05 What is important is that we continue to fight for what is ours.
01:10 But again, on a personal note, as a mother, I do not agree that economic ties are cut off.
01:20 Because China, as well as other countries, are also trade partners that the Philippines need.
01:27 We accept their products, they accept our products, and this is helpful for our economy.
01:35 Meanwhile, in the middle of the settlement of the "Gentleman's Agreement" that was passed by the administration,
01:42 according to Senator Risa Jontiferos, it is no longer a question.
01:46 But what is important now is that the current administration has already removed the visa of any Philippine alliance with China.
01:54 According to Senator Jingoy Estrada, he is not in a position to question the "Gentleman's Agreement".
02:00 This decision was probably passed through a deep policymaking process.
02:05 But he believes that during that time, sovereignty, integrity of the territory, and the interest of the country were the priorities.
02:13 Senator Aimee Marcos was called to be firm in the middle of the challenge.
02:18 But she should be calm, think, and have a weak voice, and make a calculated decision.
02:25 And this is starting with the good talks in China, and other countries that claim islands in the West Philippine Sea.
02:33 Daniel Manalastas for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
