00:00We hope that our countrymen will benefit from the strong relationship between the Philippines and Singapore,

00:10especially that there will be more agreements for their recruitment.

00:30in support of the recruitment of Filipino healthcare workers.
00:33Our ministries have worked hard on this MOU
00:36in order to ensure that a balance is achieved between the needs of the healthcare sector of both countries
00:42as well as the need for personal development and growth of our healthcare workers.
00:48Through this MOU, we express our confidence in Singapore's legal and judicial system
00:53which will ensure that the rights, welfare and well-being of our kababayan OFWs will be protected
01:00as they pursue their careers in Singapore.
01:03The MOU was also added for the assistance of the Philippines and Singapore in carbon credits.
01:09Hopefully, with this memorandum, we will be able to incentivize both industries and individuals
01:15to actively work to reduce their carbon footprint
01:19while allowing the government to mobilize financial resources to boost fiscal space.
01:24The MOU was also implemented for health cooperation.
01:27The MOU was also gained between the Philippine Local Government Units and Singapore Private Sector Partners.
01:33The two leaders also talked about the West Philippine Sea.
01:37We look forward to the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to maintain
01:42and to promote peace, security and stability in the region
01:46as well as our strong support for the peaceful resolution of any such disputes.
01:52Sean Mugaratnama was pleased with the developments within just two months
01:56since the Philippine leader visited Singapore.
01:59He said that Singapore trusts the Philippine economy so they are ready to invest.
02:04Singapore believes firmly in the Philippines' economic potential.
02:09Our companies are keen to invest in the Philippines.
02:12In fact, we are one of the top foreign investors in the Philippines in a range of industries.
02:18Transport and logistics, real estate and hospitality, telecommunications, utilities
02:24and now increasingly, the whole sphere of renewable energy.
02:28The Singaporean leader also welcomed the Philippines' victory in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
02:35The Philippines was the first in the rankings in Southeast Asia.
02:38Mr. Yulo's two goals is the only athlete from Southeast Asia, from an ASEAN nation
02:47who's had two Olympic goals ever in any sport.
02:50So it's a real milestone. It's a real milestone for all of us.
02:54I mean, we shine a bit of the reflected glory of the Philippines.
03:00The President was proud of the achievement of the Filipino athletes as a foreign leader.
03:05We had a bit of that just the other night when our Olympians came home and came here.
03:13And that's what I was telling everyone.
03:16Tonight, it's not about us.
03:18We're just reflected glory over here and trying to be part of the achievements of our athletes.
03:26We are very, very proud.
03:27And the welcome that people gave was really overwhelming.
