Today we ask BRISTOLIANS about the prison service
Transcript
00:00 Minor offences, I think there are too many people sat inside for minor offences that could be dealt with on the outside through community service, probation, things like that.
00:09 And, well, only recently I read that judges were not sending rapists, murderers to prison because they don't have the jail space.
00:16 You get three years and you're out in 11 months, you're out on tag, it's a joke.
00:19 You want to deter people, get the people out of prison, get them to help build the jails, the prison.
00:23 It's, you know, if you get three years, do three years, if you get six years, do six years, just because you're a good boy and you get out in 11 months.
00:31 No, they're only letting them out early because they haven't got the spaces.
00:35 Disgusting, and yet someone might, a couple of motoring offences, six months in prison.
00:40 You can deal with things like that on the outside world.
00:42 We've got community service and things like that, probation.
00:46 There's a lot that can be dealt with on the outside world, I think it's a lazy system.
00:50 Myself, I've been in trouble with the law, it is a lazy system.
00:53 I must admit, I've been in custody in prison, there's too many people in there for minor offences, it's ridiculous.
