We ask people on the streets of Manchester how they will be affected by rising council tax and whether they agree or disagree with the increase in prices.

00:00 We're very lucky in Rochdale. It's gone up to 4.9% but they then knocked 2% off it.
00:05 So we're only on 2.99%. It must be one of the cheapest in the country I think.
00:11 So that doesn't worry me, no.
00:13 I agree with them if you get better facilities.
00:16 I think the councils are in such a state now, they're just spending money where it's not needed
00:20 and then they're short of money at the end of the year.
00:23 I'm lucky. I'm quite old so I'm doing okay.
00:26 But all of these rises, it's just killing the young people.
00:29 They can't get on the property ladder, interest rates are high and the council tax.
00:34 That's not going to help in any way at all.

00:39 Absolutely disagree.
00:40 A lot. I'm going to be paying a lot for our council tax.
00:47 I disagree because there's nothing being done to the streets, the potholes, absolutely.
00:53 I've been on to the council about things that they're doing that are not needed.
