00:00 Abu Sharma is the Executive Officer here at the Bangladesh International Centre.
00:05 So what's the work going to involve?
00:08 Well Kevin, we've been fortunate to secure £1.2 million for the capital work from the
00:14 Youth Investment Fund which is administered by Social Investment Business.
00:19 So over the last two years the Board of Trustees have been working with myself and the staff
00:24 to secure this fund through that Youth Investment Fund.
00:30 What it will involve is a bit of refurbishment, extension work and also a dedicated youth
00:36 space for young people.
00:38 As part of the programme we'll be delivering a lot more young people activities, young
00:42 people development skills as well.
00:45 So over the last 23 years the Centre has been providing a lot of activities for diverse
00:49 communities as Sunderland grows we want it to grow as well.
00:53 So the Board of Trustees with community over the last couple of years have been doing consultations
00:58 and obviously this is the way they want it to go and we've been fortunate to secure
01:01 this large funding from the Youth Investment Fund which we all thank you about.
