00:00 to win if she wants to win.
00:02 So Hedvig is here for nothing but first place
00:05 and so exciting to see Hedvig Vessel.
00:07 She's been on a little bit of a slow burn, creeping up.
00:10 We had Manon leading for a while, now Astrid's leading,
00:12 but Hedvig's been right there and now is her time to shine.
00:16 She's excited, she's nervous, we're excited for her.
00:19 Elizabeth, you have some history
00:20 of these championship battles with Hedvig.
00:23 - Oh man, I won't, yeah, I'm so nervous.
00:27 - So she is out of the gate, start one.
00:31 Eyes on the prize, looking up her first feature.
00:34 - Super powerful skiing.
00:35 - And taking it as a double, Hedvig Vessel
00:39 coming out with intention as she gets high on this pace.
00:43 This is the most aggressive pace we've seen so far
00:45 in the ski women's category as she's now
00:48 just managing her way through those old tracks.
00:50 There's another big one beneath her.
00:52 - Getting into that spicy zone there,
00:54 finding her takeoff, no hesitation,
00:57 taking it so long.
00:59 - Sailing over the bomb holes from the other riders
01:02 and connecting absolutely perfectly with the transition.
01:06 Hedvig Vessel now with a couple of control turns
01:09 and lining up this bottom feature right off the nose.
01:13 - Going huge.
01:14 - Incredible run from the peak performance athlete,
01:22 full throttle from Hedvig Vessel, top to bottom.
01:26 The speed and the intensity of that run.
01:28 - She wanted it.
01:30 - And she got it.
01:32 That was unbelievable.
01:34 - She's happy.
01:35 I think.
01:40 - Happy-ish.
01:41 We'll see what the judges had to do.
01:45 The two compatriots there, competitors for a moment,
01:49 but travel buddies and ski buddies.
01:55 All right, Elizabeth, the replay of this.
01:57 She was so intense right from the start.
02:00 - That double, I have to say,
02:01 that's a really tricky double to take
02:03 and she took it perfect.
02:04 Taking the first one kind of big and the second one smaller.
02:07 And then this was the move of the run, I would say.
02:09 - So big.
02:12 And her connection back to the snow was perfect.
02:14 She took that one long as well.
02:16 All those off-season squats and deadlifts coming into play.
02:20 You can see super direct.
02:22 There were no speed checks really in the entire run.
02:25 Full fluid, pinned, free ride at its best there from Hedvig.
02:30 So we'll see what the judges, she's now done her bit.
02:34 These are anxious moments as there's so much at stake.
02:38 And Hedvig Vessel has been second overall
02:41 three different times on the Freeride World Tour.
02:44 She wants that final step probably more than anybody
02:47 in all four categories here today.
02:49 As we see the score, the numbers up, up, up, 93-33!
02:54 The relief.
02:56 - Open your eyes, Hedvig.
02:57 Open your eyes, look at the score.
02:59 Does she know?
03:00 - I wish you the best, but don't beat me.
03:04 (all laughing)
03:06 - Well, that says it all.
03:10 - Thank you everyone who's been there.
03:11 I'm proud of my run.
03:13 I can't do anything more right now,
03:16 so let's just pray for the win.
03:21 (all laughing)
03:24 - I love that, she's so sincere.
