Starting at $90,995 and capping at $99,795 based on trim and selected options, the 2024 Audi SQ8 e-tron positions itself within the premium segment of electric SUVs. Although Audi has initially only announced prices for the entry-level Premium Plus models, this variant emerges as the best value proposition for prospective buyers. It comes lavishly equipped with all the luxury and convenience features one would expect from a vehicle of its stature, including a panoramic sunroof, genuine leather upholstery, and four-zone automatic climate control, without the necessity of additional option packages.

Beneath its polished exterior lies a more potent three-motor electric powertrain capable of producing 496 horsepower, propelling the SQ8 e-tron from 0 to 60 mph in an estimated 4.5 seconds. This powertrain setup, featuring dual electric motors on the rear axle, allows for a form of torque-vectoring differential, enhancing cornering by adjusting power distribution to the outer rear wheel as needed. While the SQ8 e-tron delivers confident and reasonably athletic handling, it trades off some of the crisp response found in Audi's other S-branded models for a slightly less comfortable ride. However, this characteristic becomes an asset on winding roads, where the SQ8 e-tron's sportier nature provides a more engaging driving experience.

Equipped with a 106.0-kWh battery pack, the SQ8 e-tron supports 170 kW DC fast charging, offering an EPA-estimated range of up to 253 miles per charge. Opting for the larger 22-inch wheels will reduce the range slightly to 218 miles. Despite these impressive figures, the SQ8 e-tron's efficiency ratings of up to 72 MPGe city and 75 MPGe highway are competitive within the electric vehicle segment, although some alternatives offer higher ratings.

The interior of the SQ8 e-tron is as serene as it is spacious, providing ample room for adults in both rows of seats and a predominantly digital user experience. The dashboard boasts multiple high-resolution screens, including Audi's Virtual Cockpit and two flush-mounted touchscreens for control and entertainment purposes. Standard luxury features are abundant, from heated seats front and rear to a power-operated rear liftgate and an adjustable steering column.

Connectivity and entertainment are equally prioritized, with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-dash navigation, wireless smartphone charging, a Bang & Olufsen stereo system, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot ensuring that passengers remain connected and entertained, regardless of the journey ahead

The 2024 Audi SQ8 e-tron represents a harmonious blend of performance, luxury, and sustainability, setting a new benchmark in the electric SUV market.
