00:00 The Niners placed a second round tender on Jawan Jennings.
00:02 He's going to make four point six three million under the second round tag.
00:07 Does this surprise you at all, Grant, that that I mean, Jennings was
00:12 probably would have been the Super Bowl MVP if the Niners had won the game.
00:16 I mean, he was that good.
00:18 What is it?
00:18 What do you take off of the second round money they're giving him?
00:20 Yeah, I mean, it felt like they only had 19 catches this year.
00:26 It felt like they phased him out of the offense unfairly because he's good.
00:29 And I don't know why in the Super Bowl he was, as you said, he was their MVP.
00:34 If they had given the original round tender, the seventh round tender,
00:38 I think a team would match it.
00:40 Trade a seventh round pick for Jawan Jennings.
00:42 Absolutely. That's a bargain.
00:44 But you give him the second round tender.
00:47 I think a team be willing to spend four four point whatever
00:50 on Jawan Jennings this year, but trade a second for him
00:53 when you could just draft a wide receiver in the second round.
00:56 I think that pretty much guarantees that he's coming back to the Niners.
00:59 And if people remember four years ago, the Niners were in the same situation
01:02 with Kendrick Bourne, who was a restricted free agent.
01:05 It was an undrafted free agent.
01:06 They gave him the second round tender.
01:08 He eventually signed it.
01:09 I think it'll be about a week for teams to decide
01:11 if they want to match it with Kendrick Bourne.
01:12 I mean, excuse me, with Jawan Jennings.
01:14 But I feel like he's probably going to this will be his last year with the 49ers.
01:17 Is are they going to have all three of their guys?
01:20 Do you expect them to have Debo, Iuke and Jennings this year?
01:24 I do. There were I thought there might have been a possibility
01:27 they could trade Iuke for Brian Burns.
01:30 But outside of that, I don't really see the Niners trading Brandon Iuke.
01:34 And now it seems like they're trying to free up cap space to make this happen.
01:37 It's a weird situation.
01:39 They you know, there's been a couple of reports.
01:41 One report was like the Niners are going to sign Iuke
01:44 after the wide receiver position kind of
01:47 reveals itself or the market, I should say, develops in March.
01:52 But then the Niners are also moving, meeting with guys like J.C.
01:57 Latham and Fukuoka from Oregon State.
02:00 Those guys are projected to go in like the top 10, top 15.
02:03 What do you think that there's a chance that I don't know, maybe
02:07 Jefferson winds up getting 33, 34 million resets the market north of 30.
02:14 And they just say, you know what?
02:16 Yeah, publicly, we've said we want Brandon, but we were never planning
02:20 on going to those numbers for him.
02:22 And we're not going to.
02:25 And so we're going to trade him.
02:26 I mean, it's just weird.
02:28 It seems weird.
02:29 Like, why are you waiting for guys who are going to get paid more
02:33 if you want to pay him less?
02:37 It's possible.
02:37 I mean, what they what they could do, though, is
02:39 I don't think Justin Jefferson affects that much.
02:41 Justin Jefferson's by far the best wide receiver in the league, and
02:44 they can sort of wait and see what teams call the Niners during the during the draft.
02:49 Like if Iuke wants 28 million a year, the Niners want to give him 24
02:54 and their fourth three, four million apart, it just waits.
02:57 Let's see if any team wants to give you 28 million.
02:59 I'm not sure they will, because Jefferson aside, it's supposed to be a very strong
03:04 class of wide receivers.
03:06 So would you rather trade a first round pick for Brandon Iuke
03:12 and give him all that money or just draft a wide receiver?
03:16 A lot of teams might prefer to just draft a wide receiver.
03:19 So what is Brandon Iuke's trade value?
03:20 Really? Is it a top 15 pick?
03:22 Is the top 30 pick?
03:24 Is it a top 45 pick?
03:25 Maybe it's top 45 pick.
03:27 But I think the strength of this draft class at wide receiver
03:31 could hurt Brandon Iuke's value, which could play in the Niners favor.
03:35 That's interesting.
03:37 What Colton McKibbitz got signed.
03:39 Ben Bartsch got re signed.
03:42 What are you?
03:44 Ben Bartsch!
03:44 Stop the presses.
03:46 Here comes Ben Bartsch.
03:48 Is he going to start right guard next year?
03:50 Well, he told me he can play center or guard or tackle.
03:53 Do it all.
03:54 You know, maybe he's the the jack of all trades.
03:57 But what did you make of the money that they gave Colton?
04:00 Is that do you view that as absolutely he's starting?
04:04 And that's seven million dollars to be the starter, because that's a deal.
04:08 But once again, this is kind of the stated area that needed to be upgraded.
04:13 Do you think that they're going to upgrade it or do you think they've done
04:16 what they're going to do at tackle?
04:18 I'd like to see what the structure of the contract looks like next year.
04:22 But it seems like it's a fairly good bet.
04:25 He's going to be starting a right tackle this year.
04:27 Trent Williams going to be 36.
04:29 Maybe the Niners want to draft an offensive tackle
04:31 that they can sit on the bench for a year or two and develop.
04:34 But I don't know. I mean.
04:36 Are you going to develop him right tackle and play him at left tackle?
04:38 I think they like McKibbitz.
04:40 I I'm say I think they like McGlinchey.
04:42 A lot of people, me included, said McGlinchey is not good enough.
04:46 The Niners always shot back with. Yes, he is.
04:49 He is more than good enough for what we need.
04:51 They didn't want to pay him what his market value was.
04:53 But I think they feel that McKibbitz is just McGlinchey at a reasonable price
04:58 and they're willing to work around 13 sacks a year.
05:01 That'll give up.
05:01 And I don't I don't see it, but they love him.
05:04 He knows the system, Larry.
05:05 He knows the system.
05:06 And that's all that really matters.
05:08 Well, I mean, do you I mean, are they going to get I mean,
05:11 I think they're going to draft at least two offensive linemen in this draft
05:15 and whether they're drafting him for the future or drafting him for the present.
05:20 Um, I, I think they are going to draft a couple offensive linemen.
05:24 I guess my question would be, do you think there's like, um, another move coming?
05:30 Like could McKitt, McGlin, could McKibbitz slide to center and then get rid of
05:35 Brendel for cap relief, or do you think Brendel is going to be the center?
05:39 And, um, you know what, Burford and Feliciano, maybe it sounds like Lynch
05:45 wants a re-sign Feliciano is Burford and Feliciano going to awkwardly share that
05:50 right guard spot after what was said.
05:53 And then is, is, is, uh, McKibbitz going to be the starter at right tackle.
05:57 And then you just draft maybe young guys behind them.
06:00 I don't know.
06:01 I mean, it's, it's to me, it seems like it should be center or should be left
06:07 guard and left tackle settled and the other three spots not settled and just
06:11 kind of, let's have a competition this summer, but I don't know.
06:14 I would agree.
06:14 That's what it should be.
06:15 But I think Chris Forster, Kyle Shanahan, I think I get the feeling they want as
06:19 much continuity on the offensive line as possible.
06:21 So my best guess is that Brendel is going to be the starting center week one.
06:25 McKibbitz is going to be the starting right tackle week one.
06:28 And that the right guard spot is the one position on the line that they're looking
06:32 at potentially bringing in a starter.
06:33 They could bring back Feliciano, but frankly, they could do better.
06:36 I mean, Feliciano might be better than Burford right now, but he's not that
06:42 good and he's not getting better.
06:44 So they could go out and sign a better guard or they could spend a day to pick
06:49 on a guard who can start right away.
06:51 Someone who actually played right guard in college, not like Aaron Banks, who
06:55 was played left guard at Notre Dame was drafted to play right guard.
06:58 And the Niners are like, Oh, turns out he can't do it.
07:01 We'll wait a year, play him a left guard.
07:03 And that was good.
07:03 Get a right guard.
