00:05 Vrbo by the broadcast experts. Good morning Tameka, how you doing this
00:11 morning? I'm good, how are you? I'm doing great because you're in a place I've
00:16 been wanting to visit for this great event going on this week. Tell me about
00:19 what you're doing and where you're at. Yes, well where I'm at is Big Sky,
00:24 Montana. See this beautiful Vrbo view that I have. I'm here right now but this
00:30 week I've actually been hanging out with hundreds of black outdoor enthusiasts
00:34 for the National Brotherhood of Snowsports 51st annual celebration. I
00:39 mean it is a vibe on the slopes for sure. The organization focuses on diversity
00:46 and representation on the slopes. It's one of the reason or one one of the
00:51 events that contributes to the more than 100 billion dollars that black travelers
00:55 spend on vacations like this. Yeah, well it's amazing because I know they travel
01:00 around to different ski resorts throughout the year. It's so amazing. So
01:04 being up in Montana must be just a great event going on there. So let's talk about
01:08 of course when planning a trip and what you look for to help black travelers get
01:13 the best out of their trips. Absolutely, one of the first things I look for is
01:17 where am I staying and especially when I'm considering family and friends who
01:21 are tagging along you know it's like a family reunion. So places like this is
01:25 perfect to really create memories under one roof and also diversity I should say
01:31 inclusion, destinations that are inclusive. That's important to be able to
01:35 travel someplace where you see yourself you know and you know it's just about
01:39 the vibe. I love how you said bringing the family together. So with that what
01:45 tips do you have about of course getaways and how we could bring everyone
01:49 together or even just ourselves on some getaways? Absolutely, book now. I know we
01:56 like to wait until later but book now and it's not too late to book a ski trip
02:00 if you were looking to come out here and get on the slopes or go anywhere for
02:03 that matter. Book now and also when you were preparing for next season if you
02:08 can't book right now look at booking before October and also check out apps
02:14 like Verbo where you can use those filters to really search for things like
02:20 and in a ski in a ski out. That's the home I'm in now. It's ski in a ski. It's
02:24 convenient. Yeah I like that and they're not that expensive if you start planning
02:29 now and that's the big part about it that you know you want people to do.
02:32 All right you're on the mountain right now but let's talk about other
02:36 destinations to get out to. Absolutely a hot spot especially in the summertime is
02:42 Martha's Vineyard. It attracts a lot of black travelers in the summertime as I
02:47 mentioned and it a lot of events I would say events like the African-American
02:51 Film Festival and another another popular hot spot is Sag Harbor. Sag
02:57 Harbor is the black community of the Hamptons and also one of my new favorite
03:03 Caribbean destinations happens to be Antigua and Barbuda. I mean fun fact they
03:08 have 365 beaches so really for one beach for every day of the year. I like that
03:14 and also Tameka one more question do you recommend people to go into other like
03:19 of course neighborhood when they go like you know someone's from South Carolina
03:23 go to Alabama. There's some great ways to connect with people there when you take
03:26 these vacations am I right? Absolutely you want to be able to experience the
03:31 culture. The culture includes locals, food, just the whole vibe I would say not just
03:37 the vibe here on the slopes but also fly the vibe and other destinations and also
03:41 you want to be able to stay in places where everybody can connect. I will
03:46 continue to say places like this are verbal are amazing. I like it I like it
03:51 Tameka this is awesome got me ready to go plan a trip right now so where can I
03:54 find more information? Yes go to the National Brotherhood of Snow Sports Snow
04:00 Sports that is www.nbs.org. I love it thank you hey Tameka thank you very
04:07 much. Thank you for having me. The preceding portion of the Arizona Daily
