00:00 - Babel Italian Eatery is in the swing of giving back to the community with their third
00:06 annual Baseball for Babel Day of Giving event.
00:09 And joining us here on the mix is Taylor to tell us how you can win some cool baseball
00:14 equipment and help fight cancer and enjoy some great food too.
00:18 So Lexi's been there, I've not been there.
00:21 And for those people out there, tell us a little about Babel.
00:23 - Yeah, we've been in the Valley for over 20 years.
00:26 We've eight locations, we're in every neck of the neighborhood.
00:30 We've got one centrally located in Phoenix, the East Valley, Goodyear, Surprise, Cave
00:37 Creek, so there's one in every corner.
00:39 - I like that.
00:40 And with this give back, all of them are doing something, right?
00:43 To help out?
00:44 - Yes.
00:45 - Which is important here.
00:46 And it's about memorabilia and also food that we have going on.
00:49 So let's first talk about the memorabilia, 'cause that's what we have out here.
00:51 'Cause this is like true memorabilia here.
00:53 We're talking Mickey Mantle baseballs, we're talking Hank Aaron, we're talking Babe Ruth,
00:59 we're talking a lot of stuff out here that you have going on.
01:01 - Yes, so we're doing our Day of Giving to help fund pancreatic cancer research.
01:07 One of the things that we're doing is a raffle and silent auction for this baseball memorabilia.
01:12 So we have some really cool items, we have signed Mickey Mantle baseball, Mickey Mantle
01:16 photo, Hank Aaron signed bat, and just some really, really cool items for collectors.
01:22 And you can buy tickets right now or bid for the silent auction at our website.
01:27 - Yeah, so you're saying right now, I can go on.
01:29 - Yes, it's live today, yep, you can do it.
01:32 And through tomorrow, which is our Day of Giving, where you can come into the restaurant,
01:36 eat, and all of the profits are going to be donated to pancreatic cancer research.
01:40 - I love that.
01:41 And are we talking about all meals or you have a special meal that people can order
01:44 for this?
01:45 - No, anything.
01:46 So you can come dine in, you can get takeout, buy a gift card, whatever.
01:51 Anything is going to be donated, all of the profits from tomorrow.
01:54 - And is that starting for lunch or for dinner, or when's it starting?
01:56 - All day long.
01:57 - All day long, I love it.
01:58 All right, so you're saying if I come in and get some lasagna, proceeds go to it.
02:02 If I come in and get some spaghetti and meatballs, proceeds are going to it.
02:08 If I just come get the meatballs, proceeds go to it.
02:10 - Yep, if you come get takeout, if you come buy a gift card, a t-shirt, whatever.
02:14 - All the proceeds.
02:15 I like that.
02:16 And then will this be anywhere, or is this mostly online that you're gonna take a look
02:19 at it?
02:20 - It's online.
02:21 So if you wanna see what items we have, I would head over to our website and you can
02:25 buy raffle tickets or bid now for the silent auction items.
02:28 - And as we said, this is just a little bit of what you have on there, right?
02:30 - Yeah, yep.
02:31 - So it's a lot, which is so important.
02:32 And I love that you guys are doing it, especially during spring training.
02:33 - Yeah.
02:34 - It's gonna be nice, because we know that a lot of baseball players come in there to
02:37 get fueled up and hang out there.
02:38 - Definitely, yeah, absolutely.
02:39 - So it's pretty cool.
02:40 I like this.
02:41 So okay, let me ask you a little bit about food now.
02:43 So we know lasagna, we know spaghetti and meatballs.
02:46 What else there?
02:47 What about for the kids?
02:48 What's for the kids there?
02:49 - Oh my gosh.
02:50 Well, we have awesome pizza, which I feel like hits, you know, everybody in the family
02:55 loves pizza.
02:56 We also, I mean, for the kids, there's mac and cheese, spaghetti.
03:01 But we have really something for everybody.
03:02 We have a lot of traditional Italian dishes, like you mentioned, the spaghetti and lasagna.
03:06 We also have some healthier options.
03:08 We have really good protein bowls, salads, some like entree protein dishes.
03:14 And we also, we're definitely more of a modern take on Italian cuisine, so you can come in
03:20 and get like a chicken chipotle pasta.
03:23 There's definitely something for everyone.
03:25 - I like it, because our Polish director, Michael Petri, has been to Italy and he knows,
03:30 you know, about eating pasta and everything like that.
03:32 So he'll probably be in there to see him eat.
03:35 He's like, you know, the Boli and all that, some very, you know, fancy Italian words I
03:39 don't know.
03:40 But that's awesome.
03:41 What about desserts?
03:43 - Our tiramisu is my personal favorite.
03:47 And we're really, you know, we make everything from scratch.
03:51 Everything's made to order.
03:52 So everything just tastes really fresh and it's good.
03:54 - Yeah, I like that.
03:56 So all right, well, again, it is the big giving day going on tomorrow.
04:01 But right now, they can go to the website, which is?
04:04 - BaboItalian.com.
04:05 - There you go.
04:06 All eight locations are doing this.
04:08 And again, all the proceeds are going to help fight pancreatic cancer, which is very important
04:12 to us in this community and to, you know, the people at Bell Bowl.
04:15 So Babo It.
04:16 So there you go.
04:17 Babo, Babo.
04:18 I know, Babo It, Babo It.
04:19 There we go.
04:20 It's a lot.
04:21 - No, I know.
04:22 It's a tongue twister.
04:23 - It is.
04:24 All right, so thank you, Taylor.
04:25 - Yeah, thank you.
04:26 - Don't forget, also, information is on aztv.com for what we talked about.
