00:00 Over time we project that the income from the clean air zone will decrease as people make that shift to cleaner vehicles.
00:07 And we're already seeing that at the moment. We've seen it with that two-thirds reduction in some of the most polluting vehicles on Sheffield streets.
00:14 I think it's probably important to say that we don't charge private cars and we have no intention to do so.
00:21 And we know that by working together people are improving air quality across our city and we can see that at the moment in terms of some of the vehicle data about movements around our city.
00:34 I think it's probably also important to say that it is not having an impact on our city centre in terms of footfall, which is still steady.
00:43 And that's brilliant because we know that the city centre is going through a rapid regeneration at the moment.
00:49 Sheffield is a city on the up but people are still coming into our city centre.
00:53 We have no plans to change the clean air zone, whether that be an expansion or whether that be about charging for private cars.
01:02 I know there are different clean air zone models that are in operation across the country and I've visited some of those.
01:09 But the reality is that in a cost of living crisis, after 14 years of this government, where people are really struggling at the moment,
01:17 I don't think it would be right for us to charge private cars.
