00:41 Former President Rodrigo Duterte softens his tone towards President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
00:45 during a prayer rally in Cebu City, saying compared to him, Marcos is "a dignified man."
00:52 This after Duterte cursed and called Marcos a drug addict at a rally in Davao City on
00:56 January 28.
00:58 Duterte who claims there is nothing wrong with the Constitution says he has nothing
01:02 against charter change efforts, as long as it does not serve the vested interests of
01:06 the current president.
01:08 Duterte also advises Marcos not to push his luck or else end up like his father Ferdinand
01:12 Marcos who replaced the 1935 Constitution in 1973.
01:20 Neither President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. nor Malacanang issue a statement to recognize
01:24 the anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on Sunday, February 25.
01:30 In 2023, Marcos made an effort to acknowledge the anniversary of the revolt, saying he was
01:35 one with the nation in remembering the historic day.
01:38 This year, Marcos did not declare the anniversary of the uprising a holiday, upsetting democracy
01:43 advocates who believe the move was meant to diminish the legacy of the People Power Revolution.
01:49 The National Historical Commission of the Philippines holds the official government
01:52 commemoration this year through a simple ceremony Sunday morning at the People Power Monument.
01:57 Meantime, anti-Marcos groups hold events to commemorate the ouster of the dictator in
02:02 1986.
02:03 This, as First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos posts a group photo of the Klan with a caption "Happy
02:10 Sunday, everyone."
02:14 The Centenarians Act of 2016 is amended to provide monetary perks not only to senior
02:19 citizens aged 100 but also those who are 80 years old and above.
02:24 President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signs Republic Act No. 11982 into law, compelling the government
02:29 to hand out P10,000 in cash to Filipinos who have reached the age of 80 and every five
02:35 years thereafter until they reach 95.
02:38 Once they cross the 100-year mark, the cash gift balloons to P100,000, a provision from
02:43 the 2016 law that remains untouched.
02:46 House Speaker Martin Rumbalde says the new law also creates an elderly data management
02:51 system.
02:52 The measure's main sponsors in Congress were senior citizens Rep. Rodolfo Ordáñez and
02:57 Sen. Aimee Marcos.
03:01 Film and television reunions steal the show at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards on

03:44 Meanwhile, actress Barbara Streisand is honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition
03:49 of her prolific career and humanitarian work.
03:54 TV host Mariel Rodriguez apologizes for her controversial gluta photo inside the office
03:59 of her husband, Sen. Robin Padilla.
04:01 Now-deleted photos of Rodriguez showed her receiving a treatment at the Senate, with
04:06 a text explaining she was on a tight schedule.
04:08 The post quickly earned the ire of the public, with Filipino netizens saying it was disrespectful
04:13 of Rodriguez to have her drip session inside the institution.
04:17 Medical professionals also raised concern over the use of glutathione IV drips for skin
04:22 whitening.
04:23 In a statement, Rodriguez clarifies she received her drip of vitamin C, not glutathione, under
04:29 the supervision of a nurse.
04:31 She adds it was never her, quote, "intention to malign nor undermine the integrity and
