00:00 These are your headlines for the North West.
00:02 A Blackpool food bank has closed due to lack of donations.
00:06 Based on Foxhall Road, Blackpool Voice have announced they are closing their food bank
00:12 service to the general public as they are so low on stock. Their service offers a lifeline for some
00:18 of the resort's most vulnerable people. They say they will continue to help those in a current crisis.
00:26 Police have seized four bikes as they investigate claims of damage to protected land.
00:31 The bikes were seized for a range of offences including no insurance and disqualified driving.
00:38 One bike is also suspected to have been stolen. Working in partnership with United Utilities,
00:45 police say the damage at a protected site in Rivington costs millions of pounds and affects
00:50 the ecosystem which will take years to recover. Junior doctors have been on strike this weekend
00:57 across Lancashire and South Cumbria and the industrial action is set to continue.
01:02 Services across the region's hospitals are facing increased waiting times.
01:08 Some appointments are likely to be rescheduled. Members of the BMA began their walkout on
01:15 Saturday morning and will remain on strike until 11.59pm on Wednesday.
01:21 Baseball bat-wielding youths have wreaked havoc in Nelson over the weekend. Police were called to
01:27 a scene of violent disorder on Saturday evening as gangs of youths wielded weapons around Sagar
01:33 Street and Broadway. A Section 60 order was put in place giving officers the power to search people
01:41 for weapons without needing their usual grounds to suspect. Extra officers remained on patrol in
01:47 the Nelson town centre area on Sunday. Police in Wigan have seized another car as they continue
01:54 their efforts to tackle vehicle crime. Last week officers seized a car and a motorbike that they
02:01 suspected had been used in an anti-social way. Now they have seized another car which had an
02:07 uninsured driver at the wheel in Abram. The driver had ignored previous advice and was displayed a
02:14 fraudulent registration plate as well as driving with no insurance. Now the weather, a largely dry
02:22 and sunny day but rather chilly. Tonight will be dry with clear skies and a widespread frost.
02:28 Tomorrow is looking more cloudy with strengthening winds later on.
02:34 on.
