00:02:18 >> Hello, welcome to India Market Close right here on NDTV Profit and
00:02:21 pull up the markets.
00:02:22 And we were off the lows of the day at somewhere around two and
00:02:25 you can argue that that's how we kind of shaping up.
00:02:27 So on the headline numbers, a bit of a nothing kind of a day if you will, but
00:02:32 a lot of action within that and the heat map will show you that.
00:02:35 But before we get to individual stocks, bring up the bank nifty and
00:02:38 see what the banks are up to predominantly.
00:02:40 And the mid cap and the small cap indices as well.
00:02:42 So flat lining for the nifty bank as well.
00:02:45 A mid cap index, flat as flat can be.
00:02:48 Small caps too, started off about half a percent higher, completely gone off.
00:02:53 So hardly any move there on the benchmark indices of any kind whatsoever.
00:02:58 Now get the heat map up on the screen and show you what's moving and what's not.
00:03:01 So there's gains for LNT, consistent order flow.
00:03:05 Very likely one of the reasons that is strength in power grid,
00:03:08 Adani Enterprises, couple of percentage points higher.
00:03:11 Maybe the Lucknow Airport factor,
00:03:13 maybe just the overall sentiment that we're seeing within the Adani Group stocks.
00:03:16 Because the clutch of them have done well,
00:03:18 Adani Port out here is about 1.17% as well.
00:03:21 There's some strength in BPCL today after a while.
00:03:24 We've seen that uptick come in.
00:03:26 The stocks had corrected a little bit.
00:03:28 Maybe some bit of uptick was warranted,
00:03:29 just that the timing is never quite known.
00:03:31 But we're seeing it today.
00:03:33 A lot more green than what was there at the start of the trading day.
00:03:37 So that's the other aspect to keep in mind.
00:03:39 Within the losers, Asian Paints continues to sulk 3.5% lower today.
00:03:44 And clearly three days on a trot now, this stock has seen some pressure.
00:03:48 Apollo Hospitals 2.5%, Divis is down about 2% too.
00:03:52 And surprise, surprise, while metals were opening up because of the whole China factor,
00:03:57 I don't know if the iron ore prices going down is an indication
00:04:00 to the street that all may not necessarily be well,
00:04:02 even with the China opening up factor.
00:04:04 But today, almost all metal stocks are sulking today.
00:04:07 The Nifty Metal Index would have certainly been
00:04:09 under a bit of cloud in the session today.
00:04:12 Right here, okay, thanks for pulling that up.
00:04:14 Save for a few small ones,
00:04:16 and Adani Enterprises ain't technically a metal stock,
00:04:18 neither is APL Apollo, just that they're a part of this index.
00:04:21 Look at PurePlay Metal names, Tamanna,
00:04:23 all of them sulking in the session today and not surprising out there.
00:04:27 Yeah, metals having a bad day as is IT.
00:04:30 Quite a tough day for IT stocks as well in play today.
00:04:34 And there you have it, the entire index down and persistent also finding that pain.
00:04:39 But Neeraj was talking about enterprises and ports,
00:04:43 the entire Adani pack is up in the green today,
00:04:46 whether it's a total, whether it's an energy,
00:04:49 whether it's an Adani green.
00:04:51 So you're seeing that kind of, you know,
00:04:55 complete trend across the space, Adani Energy, in fact, about 9% up.
00:05:00 Some other movers through the day and let's talk about Alchem Labs.
00:05:04 Alchem Labs is seeing a bit of pain after reports
00:05:09 that their IT raids undergoing some of their locations.
00:05:12 The company has issued a clarification, in fact, just a few minutes ago,
00:05:16 saying that they have cooperated with the authorities.
00:05:20 There were searches in September 2023,
00:05:22 and they're not aware of anything new right now.
00:05:26 So that under pressure.
00:05:27 Vodafone is the other stock in focus.
00:05:29 Their board is going to meet to consider a fundraise.
00:05:33 Now reports during the rounds that promoters will be putting in money
00:05:36 and they don't seem to have managed to find anyone else to invest in the company,
00:05:40 very simply and broadly put.
00:05:42 So Vodafone under pressure this morning as well.
00:05:45 Rain Industries is the other one perhaps that I would pull up in pain.
00:05:50 Actually Q4 results, not Q3 because they follow the calendar year.
00:05:54 But Rain has seen about 1000 crores of losses versus a mild profit last time,
00:06:01 around 150 odd crores.
00:06:03 And that stock is down.
00:06:05 So Rain Industries bearing the brunt.
00:06:07 And PB Fintech is the other one that I would pull up. A large trade,
00:06:13 which has brought it in focus.
00:06:14 A big chunk actually of the equity has changed hands in trade.
00:06:18 So you're seeing PB Fintech there up in the green as well.
00:06:22 But overall, I would say not a very action packed afternoon at this point.
00:06:27 Neeraj, you'd perhaps agree, not too much happening there in the markets.
00:06:31 Some tentative kind of moves.
00:06:34 Very, very, very well put Tamanna.
00:06:36 And frankly, that's it on the index.
00:06:37 At least that certainly is the case.
00:06:39 And let's pose that very question to our experts today.
00:06:42 On the technical side, Hemant Kapadia, Senior VP, Institutional Equity, KR Chokshi Stocks.
00:06:46 And on the fundamentals, Mr. G R Chokhalingam.
00:06:50 Gentlemen, both of you, thank you so much for taking the time out and being with us.
00:06:53 Hemant, I'm tempted to ask you about a big call that you'd given on Adani Enterprises a few days back.
00:07:00 That stock is turning out well.
00:07:01 But let's start off with whether you have a view on the index or no.
00:07:04 Couple that up, of course, with a view on Adani Enterprises, if you will.
00:07:08 OK, Neeraj.
00:07:10 Frankly speaking, as far as the Nifty is concerned, we were straining at the leash for the breakout, actually.
00:07:19 We've been in a rain between 21.137 and 22.125.
00:07:26 We've gone above that four times intraday, but we haven't closed about 22.125 even once.
00:07:32 No, that would be a mistake.
00:07:33 I think we closed above that once on Thursday and we've slipped back again.
00:07:37 It's very clear that we need to now once again close above 20 to 125.
00:07:43 And this time around, I believe it won't be crying wolf.
00:07:46 It'll be the real thing.
00:07:47 25, 500, 20 to 500, 25, 20 to 800 coming.
00:07:52 Now, volatility long expiry, five weeks, Neeraj.
00:07:57 And the weeks which was 15 or slightly sub 15 on Friday.
00:08:02 Now, bounces back to about 15 again.
00:08:06 One would have thought that after four weeks of flirting with the 16 and a half level,
00:08:13 we'd finally seen the worst of the weeks and we'd see a cool off coming in.
00:08:17 No major event risk that I can think of.
00:08:20 And with a close slightly below 15, I thought we'd be more, we'd have simmered down a bit.
00:08:27 Now, that's not happened.
00:08:28 Weeks are above 15.7.
00:08:29 So frankly speaking, the week needs to close up below 15, but expiry.
00:08:34 So that doesn't look like happening.
00:08:36 Bank nifty isn't bad, but it needs to not break 46, 500 and overcome 47, 100.
00:08:44 Reliance is almost at an all time high and going back to Adani enterprise.
00:08:49 I have a repeat bypass on Adani enterprise because I still feel this stock is going to
00:08:54 3800 and 4000.
00:08:55 I'm still not sure why.
00:08:57 We've seen a lot of relative strength.
00:08:59 We've been consolidating.
00:09:00 I gave a call earlier.
00:09:01 Like I said, I'm repeating it.
00:09:03 It looks great.
00:09:04 I, it's just that, you know, Adani bill was shot through the roof.
00:09:09 The other stock moved.
00:09:10 So I don't know why Adani enterprise is not moving, but when it moves, it will move.
00:09:15 So I am reasonably, or I'll say fairly confident.
00:09:19 Further upside seems like a very distinct possibility.
00:09:23 The only risk is the market risk.
00:09:25 If the markets were to somehow reverse, doesn't look like, then I don't expect Adani enterprise
00:09:30 to outperform.
00:09:31 But if the markets remain positive, Adani enterprise will do well.
00:09:35 Absolutely.
00:09:36 Just to take that further, of course, and with all the standard disclosures, I mean,
00:09:41 follow up for you, because today is not just about enterprises.
00:09:44 Look at energy up about 9% green total, the entire pack.
00:09:50 And of course, you're watching NDTV, which is owned by the Adani group.
00:09:56 So it's a subsidiary.
00:09:57 So that disclosure there.
00:09:58 But which of these on the charts do you see has potential for a further upside, Hime?
00:10:05 I would avoid a comment on Adani energy, Tamanna, because family and me have a position.
00:10:11 So I would not like to comment on that.
00:10:14 But NDTV and frankly, all of these stocks, now let's take NDTV.
00:10:20 We've been moving sideways for 11 weeks, Tamanna.
00:10:22 And mind you, the stock hadn't retraced much.
00:10:25 It's just consolidating moving sideways.
00:10:28 The breakout level comes in at 308 and we are still 277.
00:10:32 So I would say this is technically cheap because the stop loss is closer and the range is just
00:10:36 there.
00:10:37 So Adani, sorry, NDTV looks good.
00:10:40 OK, AWL, Adani Vilma has more, no doubt.
00:10:44 But for Adani Vilma, the breakout is at 420 and we're still at 402.
00:10:49 And this is after once again, almost 11 weeks of a consolidation.
00:10:52 So take your pick.
00:10:53 Adani Vilma, NDTV, I think both look good.
00:10:58 If we close at this level, OK, we are not very far away from monthly close, Tamanna.
00:11:03 Adani Vilma will have given an upward bar reversal on the monthly chart.
00:11:07 And we are ending a 15 month correction.
00:11:12 Frankly speaking, it's a no brainer.
00:11:14 So I would buy both, NDTV Profit as well as Adani Vilma.
00:11:19 And if you want something fast or you know, to boost up the blocks in F&O, Adani Independence.
00:11:26 This talk is NDTV, you're watching on NDTV Profit.
00:11:29 So we should make that clear, Himin, with all the standard disclaimers once again.
00:11:33 Chokha, very good afternoon to you.
00:11:36 You know, I want to ask you about OMCs, which after a few sessions of pain are seeing a
00:11:43 retracement and the verdict on it is fairly confusing.
00:11:48 It depends on which report you read, which brokerage says what.
00:11:52 Do you think that there is a consistent turnaround in OMCs, any of them you would touch in the
00:11:57 oil and gas pack right now?
00:11:59 I agree with you.
00:12:00 There is a lot of confusion in analyzing these OMCs, even for a person like me.
00:12:08 But having said that, we see a lot of volatility in the earnings, stock price, even on a quarterly
00:12:13 basis in OMCs.
00:12:14 So very difficult to see a consistent performance from this pack.
00:12:19 Since these stocks have gone up substantially from the bottom, I would rather focus on stocks
00:12:24 like, you know, ONGC rather than oil marketing companies, because if there is any spurt in
00:12:31 the oil prices, I don't think in the next six months, our fuel price can be allowed
00:12:35 to rise significantly.
00:12:38 So therefore, I would avoid OMCs in the short term.
00:12:43 And avoid on OMCs in the short term.
00:12:45 But, you know, we've been speaking about media this morning and the big news, of course,
00:12:49 is the official report that Reliance and Disney have signed a pact to merge their media business.
00:12:57 More clarity awaited on valuations, etc.
00:13:00 But what does this mean for the space?
00:13:02 What does it mean for RIL?
00:13:03 RIL not showing any great moves today, frankly, though they seem to have perhaps bagged the
00:13:09 Disney India business at a cheaper than earlier reported valuation.
00:13:14 Having said that, Jinesh Joshi, Research Analyst at Prabhudas Leeladhar is joining us for more
00:13:18 on the story.
00:13:19 Jinesh, thank you so much for speaking with us.
00:13:22 Just to get a sense from you, this has been widely reported, but do you think at the end
00:13:28 of it, it is a big bump up for the media play as far as RIL is concerned?
00:13:33 See, obviously, what will happen with this merger is that Reliance will own all the property,
00:13:41 be it IPL, IPC or DCCIS.
00:13:45 Because if I talk about the TV rights for IPL, that is with Disney Star.
00:13:51 Even the IPC digital rights are with Disney Star.
00:13:55 So, what will happen with this acquisition is that obviously RIL's bargaining power
00:14:01 or for that matter TV's bargaining power increases and it will become a one-stop-stop for sporting
00:14:09 property in India, especially cricket.
00:14:11 So, obviously, that is a positive, but valuations are something which remains to be seen and
00:14:18 especially sports property, given the inflation that we had seen in the IPL digital rights
00:14:25 or TV rights for that matter, even IPC rights.
00:14:28 It remains to be seen whether these sports properties in these terms are profitable or
00:14:32 not.
00:14:33 But net-rate from a media perspective, this is a big acquisition and it will put TV18
00:14:41 or RIL in a very good spot.
00:14:45 In terms of the structure of the merged entity, will this be outside of Viacom 18 in your
00:14:52 view?
00:14:53 Do you see them creating a separate entity for it overall?
00:14:57 And then in that sense, does the management structure change?
00:15:02 Not really.
00:15:03 As per media reports, I think a step-down subsidiary might be created within Viacom
00:15:08 18 which houses the media and entertainment assets and the plan is to absorb stock India
00:15:15 via some stock swap which was being reported earlier.
00:15:18 But at that point in time, it was being mentioned that RIL may be 61% in the merged store and
00:15:24 right now the reports are emerging that RIL may be about 61% in the merged store.
00:15:30 So, more details are awaited, but to my mind, it will be within Viacom 18 via some kind
00:15:36 of a subsidiary structure.
00:15:41 Jinesh, if indeed the deal turns out the way, the large contours of the deal turn out the
00:15:48 way the Bloomberg story has mentioned, which is a 61% stake valued at 3.9 billion and assuming
00:15:57 that Viacom 18 is the carrying entity through which all of this is carried out, what does
00:16:01 it mean for the media assets of the RIL?
00:16:03 Network 18, TV 18, effectively Network 18 because that's where everything is getting
00:16:07 consolidated.
00:16:08 Exactly.
00:16:09 So, that is what I mentioned earlier that it will become a sporting powerhouse especially
00:16:14 for cricket because IP and digital rights are with them and now with this application
00:16:20 and also the fact that the IP and TV rights which earlier were sublet by Disney Star to
00:16:26 me and given the fact that the merger has been scrapped and he has decided not to go
00:16:33 ahead with the TV rights, you will see everything bunched up in one entity.
00:16:37 So, their bargaining power is going to increase.
00:16:40 No, which I agree.
00:16:41 So, therefore, I am just trying to understand is there a valuation or a number scenario
00:16:46 that if indeed this were to happen, then what it could mean for the business because the
00:16:51 stocks as we have seen have rallied a little bit from the recent lows in the last two,
00:16:56 three months.
00:16:57 Is there room for more is the question?
00:16:59 So, it is a slightly difficult one to answer but I would try to take this in a different
00:17:07 way.
00:17:08 Given that we have all six rights, be it TV or digital or sports, if I talk about the
00:17:15 pricing power within the subscription packs, I mean very recently once the NPO 3.2 announcement
00:17:22 had come to, we had seen quite a few broadcasters take the price hike for their bookings which
00:17:27 were in the band of about 50-60%.
00:17:29 So, that can happen with Jio as well.
00:17:32 Even right now if you look at Jio Cinema, their subscription plan at about 1000 rupees
00:17:39 and IPL is not behind paywall, even the VPCI properties are not behind paywall.
00:17:47 That may go behind paywall which will increase their revenues and profitability.
00:17:51 But net net it all depends upon how much increase they are able to take to and also for advertising.
00:17:56 You will see a meaningful bump up come to because of the increased bargaining power
00:18:01 to be paid.
00:18:02 So, overall exact match is very difficult to decipher right now but as I mentioned we
00:18:09 are in a good spot to be in.
00:18:13 Dinesh, just one take from you on what this means for the industry because this is going
00:18:17 to be a massive consolidation.
00:18:19 On the other hand, you have seen the Zee Sony deal fall apart.
00:18:24 You know, what is the industry impact right now and does this give an opportunity to increase
00:18:31 the cost for entertainment and sports products since now you are going to have a behemoth
00:18:36 in this space?
00:18:37 Exactly, so that might happen and also if I talk about the consolidated viewership share
00:18:44 of Star India and Viacom, it will anywhere be between 30-40%.
00:18:49 But I forgot to mention one thing, how VPCI picked up this entire deal because just to
00:18:55 put things into perspective, when the Zee Sony merger was announced, we were asked
00:19:01 to divert these channels to meet the merger guidelines.
00:19:05 And if I talk about this current deal, especially in the markets which is Karnataka and Marathi,
00:19:11 where both Disney as well as TV18 are equally strong and their viewership share is quite
00:19:17 high, it remains to be seen as to how VPCI views this.
00:19:21 But to answer your question, yes, the cost of entertainment might rise because some properties
00:19:26 which are currently available for free on VCU cinema, they may eventually go behind
00:19:31 the paywall which can increase the cost of entertainment.
00:19:37 As of now, this season at least, the key cricket products were free which is great for viewers
00:19:42 and consumers and not maybe so much for the competitive platforms.
00:19:46 Thank you so much, Ginesh, for speaking with us and helping us break down that big media
00:19:50 deal.
00:19:51 Not too much impact on the RIs talk today, in any case, about half a percent down.
00:19:55 We'll take a very short break, but we're coming back with all the volume buzzers and
00:20:00 the action in market in the last round of trade.
00:20:04 Stay tuned.

00:24:09 All right, back with India market close right here on NDTV Profit in conversation with Hemant
00:24:15 Kapadia and G Chokalingam.
00:24:16 And we'll also get in a sense of what some of the key volume buzzers are in the session
00:24:21 today.
00:24:22 But amongst things that have moved around, there has been a bit of an uptick in some
00:24:27 of the oil marketing companies in the session today.
00:24:29 We did this piece on the editor's cut this morning.
00:24:31 We spoke about the possibilities of the upside versus the downside.
00:24:34 Mr. Chokalingam, good afternoon.
00:24:37 In this corrective move that we've seen over the last seven days into BPHP IOC, are you
00:24:43 a buyer or would you stay away?
00:24:46 I would stay away from oil marketing companies.
00:24:48 I would suggest we should stop like ONGC.
00:24:52 Why so?
00:24:54 Because this is the election time and the oil price keeps remaining volatile.
00:24:59 International political situation is also not conducive.
00:25:02 So there is a possibility of oil price floating in the short term.
00:25:06 And because it's election time, there may not be aggressive hike in the fuel prices.
00:25:11 And therefore, better to be defensive by not buying OMCs which have gone up a lot in the
00:25:17 short term.
00:25:18 Rather, if oil price goes up, there's a strong correlation between both oil and gas prices.
00:25:24 So that could be beneficial to ONGC.
00:25:26 So therefore, one can focus on ONGC instead of OMCs.
00:25:30 Okay.
00:25:31 Hemant, coming on the charts, BPCL fell about 6-7 percent, has taken a bit of a bounce today.
00:25:37 From a trade perspective, is it worth looking at BPCL?
00:25:41 Yes, Neeraj.
00:25:43 I think if you take a very short term view, we've seen a 3 and 3, 6, this is 7 trading
00:25:50 session, Neeraj.
00:25:51 We've seen an upward reversal coming in today.
00:25:53 If I were to look at the intraday charts, I think the hourly charts are showing technical
00:26:00 positives.
00:26:01 So I would say we've been up for five hours in a row.
00:26:04 So we are 629, maybe around 625.
00:26:08 I think one can take a small contra buy call because a very near term bottom seems to have
00:26:15 been made.
00:26:16 One second is a very short term.
00:26:18 A host of stocks buzzing in trade today as well.
00:26:21 Kanika Johnson with a list of some of those.
00:26:23 Kanika, good afternoon.
00:26:24 Good afternoon, Neeraj.
00:26:25 First, we have Yashuo Industries, which saw an intraday high of almost 13 percent and
00:26:32 its volumes trading at 13 times its 30-day average.
00:26:36 Then, the key reason for this would be that it had a capacity expansion greenfield project
00:26:42 at Pakhajan, Gujarat.
00:26:43 Now, this stock observed a consecutive upward trajectory for the second day in a row.
00:26:49 And the management also gave guidance for its capacity expansion at greenfield project
00:26:54 at Pakhajan for FY26 at Rs. 550 to 600 crores.
00:26:59 Next, we have Alkim Laboratories, which was down by almost 14 percent today.
00:27:03 And this was mainly on the back of media reports alleging that the companies involved in tax
00:27:08 evasion.
00:27:09 But countering these reasons, the company mentioned that these allegations are factually
00:27:13 incorrect and that the company had fully cooperated with the income tax during the survey proceedings
00:27:18 in September 23.
00:27:20 Next, we have Greenfly, Indocount and Adani Vilmar, which were mainly buzzing on the back
00:27:26 of large trades happening today.
00:27:29 Greenfly saw 3.5 percent equity changing hands with an intraday high of almost 10 percent.
00:27:36 Similarly, Indocount was also buzzing in volumes wherein 4 percent equity changed hands and
00:27:42 Adani Vilmar was also buzzing on the back of 1.3 percent equity changing hands.
00:27:48 Now, these were the five stocks that were buzzing in trade today.
00:27:52 Okay.
00:27:53 Thanks a lot for that.
00:27:54 Some strong moves there, particularly for this stock, Yashro Industries.
00:27:57 If you can pull that up, because I think it was up about 20 percent in Friday's session.
00:28:03 It's up around 5.5 percent today on good volumes.
00:28:06 Small cap stock, not a very large stock, but clearly has had a really good move the last
00:28:12 one week.
00:28:13 So, keep these at the back of your mind, Yashro in particular.
00:28:16 But again, it joins a list of stocks which in Friday's session had a very strong price
00:28:23 volume action.
00:28:24 And for the whole of last week, a clutch of this mid-size, small-size names have actually
00:28:28 had a really good move.
00:28:30 This one is not an exception to the rule.
00:28:33 Another one to talk about today is Zaggle.
00:28:36 Just look at the movement on Zaggle.
00:28:38 So, they've announced a clutch of new business orders.
00:28:41 They're going to co-brand with Nishi Forex, which is a dealer, authorized dealer for Forex
00:28:48 cards.
00:28:49 They have a deal with Emcure.
00:28:51 They've signed on actually as a client, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Benetton India.
00:28:57 So, obviously, Zaggle prepares their employment sort of software.
00:29:03 That stock is at 20 percent right now, and it's been up all day.
00:29:08 In fact, I'd like to pull up the one-year chart if we could.
00:29:11 In just three months, it's about 35 percent.
00:29:15 And it's just had a phenomenal run-up as well.
00:29:20 So, Zaggle, their stock in focus.
00:29:23 In fact, we spoke with the management just a couple of days ago, and they say that they
00:29:28 will be able to maintain their growth trajectory.
00:29:31 Listen in.
00:29:32 We've given our guidance on growth.
00:29:35 This year, we're going to grow 40 to 50 percent.
00:29:37 Next year, 40 percent plus.
00:29:40 If you think of it holistically, Samina, the spend management space is very nascent in
00:29:46 India, right?
00:29:47 And every company needs to digitize.
00:29:50 There's a huge push from the overall ecosystem to be more compliant, to reduce leakage, to
00:29:56 have information on a fingertips, out of fingertips.
00:30:00 And that's the benefit that we provide.
00:30:03 We increase your compliance.
00:30:04 We reduce your leakage.
00:30:06 We help you with your ESG goals because we reduce paper usage.
00:30:10 It's greater transparency.
00:30:12 And we are extremely competitive when it comes to price because we earn through our software
00:30:18 fees and we earn through our transaction income.
00:30:21 So, it's a very reasonably priced platform for our corporate customers.
00:30:25 Okay.
00:30:26 So, this was an earlier conversation with Zaggle.
00:30:29 But Hemin, I want to come to you on this stock, which has already had phenomenal run-up, just
00:30:34 57 percent in the last one month.
00:30:37 You know, any scope or any reason to enter right now?
00:30:43 Well, frankly speaking, Tamanna, it's a relatively new listing and we're at all-time highs.
00:30:50 So, clear blue sky.
00:30:51 There aren't any levels, frankly speaking, to go on.
00:30:54 But whatever limited data that we have clearly shows a higher top, higher bottom scenario,
00:31:01 which is the basic of any bull market.
00:31:03 So, it seems good, but I wouldn't want to go out on a limb and give up buy right now
00:31:08 simply because I'm bereft of enough data.
00:31:11 But the setup seems very clearly bullish.
00:31:13 I'm not sure it will continue with the same quantum and speed, but it seems sound and
00:31:19 stable.
00:31:20 Chokha, what about you on Zaggle?
00:31:24 Any views there?
00:31:25 Yeah, I mean, I belong to a traditional, very conservative school of thought.
00:31:31 I look at the fundamentals, growth is great, but it's trading at around 86 P/E on current
00:31:37 year earnings.
00:31:38 So, this kind of stocks give me a little scare.
00:31:42 We've already seen a lot of new age companies, how they're just trying to win.
00:31:46 I would not buy at current level.
00:31:49 All right.
00:31:51 15 percent as we speak.
00:31:53 Ridiculous, ridiculous run-up.
00:31:55 Is this the week chart?
00:31:57 Yeah, okay.
00:31:58 I was surprised about why the spike came in just in the last two minutes of trade.
00:32:01 No, no, it's been up all day.
00:32:03 But even if you look at the daily chart, the last, I think, 10, 15 minutes have gone up
00:32:07 even higher.
00:32:08 So, that's the Zaggle story.
00:32:09 But so many more stocks to talk about.
00:32:10 Very quick break and we're coming right back, including to ask Hemain for his top buy today,
00:32:16 sell tomorrow ideas.

00:36:54 All right, welcome back. We're just about 20 odd minutes from closing.
00:37:01 20-25 odd minutes from closing and it's been a flat day, flat to negative I would say.
00:37:06 Nifty IT is the biggest sort of loser of the day. Banking stocks not doing too well either.
00:37:12 The broader markets also losing steam now at this point.
00:37:17 They've picked up their traction through the day. The broader markets are also losing steam.
00:37:22 But one of the big losers of the day and the last few sessions actually has been Asian paints.
00:37:29 Down about 4% now as we speak. But yeah, it has had a weak day throughout.
00:37:36 And one of the reasons is a clutch of notes that have come out and see it being hit by competition in the space.
00:37:45 The paint segment is a particularly interesting one because it has seen more and more players make an entry.
00:37:52 Others are waiting in the wings. And it is a space which has been dominated by an Asian paints for several decades.
00:38:00 The leader in the pack. Now the question is that will new players coming into the market actually make an impact on Asian paints?
00:38:12 The bull and bear case on this and presenting both sides of that story are Mahima and Harsh.
00:38:18 Right, Tamanna sir. As you rightly mentioned, it's a bull versus bear case where Macquarie has maintained a bullish stance whereas CLSA has maintained a bearish stance.
00:38:27 Now when we talk about Macquarie, they've said that they maintain an outperformance with a target price of 4000.
00:38:33 What does CLSA have to say on this Harsh?
00:38:37 CLSA suggests that the increase in competition both on the dealer side as well as on the consumer side will dilute some of the top line that Asian paints has.
00:38:47 And some of the modes that Asian paints has will get diluted as a result of that.
00:38:51 Right. Against this Macquarie has argued that Asian paints has had a very long stance in terms of paints and their market share.
00:38:59 And they've had a good history of defending effectively in terms of market leadership.
00:39:05 Sure. You know the other argument that CLSA seems to make is that due to this both due to this pressure with regard to dealers as well as customers,
00:39:14 what you'll see is growth and margins will increasingly start coming under pressure.
00:39:18 Mind you, 40% more capacity added to the current paint output obviously domestically in India.
00:39:26 And that is a very large quantum which should therefore impact Asian paints both from margin as well as from a top line perspective.
00:39:34 Right. So the argument is that 40% capacity added will not only affect Asian paints but a lot of other players in the industries which are much smaller than Asian paints.
00:39:43 So that is what Macquarie has to say on this point.
00:39:45 Well, so yeah, so that's an interesting perspective whether Asian paints does get impacted or not.
00:39:50 But a slowdown nonetheless is expected.
00:39:53 So what you're therefore expecting is either the second round players will get impacted, Asian paints being one of them will have a second order impact Mahima.
00:40:03 And that's what CLSA seems to suggest.
00:40:05 Now what they're also suggesting is that the slowdown in growth will impact Asian paints in some form or shape.
00:40:13 Obviously need to wait and watch as to what kind of an impact and therefore what they are suggesting is that there is a possible impact with regard to valuations which we'll come to next.
00:40:23 Correct. To that Macquarie has said that Grasim is not you know competing towards the pricing strategy of any kind of paint company.
00:40:32 They're saying that they're targeting a particular product guarantee or product differentiation.
00:40:36 Well that is why they're saying that Asian paints will not be affected that much and will not be losing any kind of market share to Grasim.
00:40:44 But as you mentioned valuations, what does CLSA have to say about the valuations?
00:40:48 Well, so what they are suggesting is ROEs will contract from the 30% plus to around the 26% plus kind of mark and therefore they've derated the multiple for Asian paints.
00:41:00 Asian paints trades at roughly 60 times plus in terms of price to earnings currently and that has been the average since the last three years.
00:41:07 What CLSA has done is they've taken the 15-year average now and therefore derated the stock.
00:41:12 They earlier had a target price of 3017 on the share.
00:41:15 Now they have a target price of 2425.
00:41:18 That's a substantial downgrade.
00:41:20 Absolutely. But Macquarie on this says that it has still maintained outperformance with the target price of 4000.
00:41:27 They are saying that FY24 estimates PE is approximately at 48.3 and for FY25 it is approximately at 41.8.
00:41:35 So these are the two views of Bull versus Bear brokerages on Asian paints.
00:41:40 Excellent. Really interesting presentation there.
00:41:43 Only you guys should have swapped positions perhaps.
00:41:46 But yeah, you know Neeraj, that's the point.
00:41:51 I think the fear over Asian paints has been overdone a bit because there are other competitors in the market.
00:41:59 But Asian paints' reach at the level of the actual painter, the guy who's doing the painting is not going to be that easy to break.
00:42:08 Yeah.
00:42:10 And not that soon either.
00:42:12 Yeah. So Asian paints will probably still retain for a long time the number one player.
00:42:18 But does the valuation come under question mark, not just because of Grasim,
00:42:21 but because of the fact that Grasim, there is JSW and others like Berger, etc., will not keep quiet.
00:42:26 Berger is also a reasonably large player in its own right.
00:42:28 So would all of that make pricing come off, margins come off a little bit and then maybe multiples?
00:42:35 Because even if Asian paints multiples come off from whatever 60, 65 times to 55, 50 times, that is still not cheap per se.
00:42:42 And could be accepted by the market at a reasonable valuation too.
00:42:47 So it may not be an earnings corrective move, but it may well be a valuation corrective move.
00:42:50 Yeah. But typically in any market where you have one lead player and then there is a challenger,
00:42:57 it is the smaller players who get hit first.
00:42:59 Who get disrupted from a business perspective the most.
00:43:01 From a business perspective. In fact, let's get views from Chokha and Hemen on this.
00:43:06 Hemen, I'll start with you first. Asian paints feeling the heat today.
00:43:10 Do you think it's worth picking up at these points or would you wait for a bigger cut?
00:43:16 I'd wait a bit, Kamal, because 39-year uptrend, 39-year uptrend from whatever data we have, would be more than that.
00:43:25 Last, what, 36 or roughly last 33 months, it's underperformed.
00:43:33 That's okay. We've had a phenomenal move.
00:43:36 But now things are looking just a bit wobbly.
00:43:40 And I'm not talking about the weekly charts, I'm talking about the monthly and the quarterly charts.
00:43:45 Because, I mean, after almost three years of doing nothing, now things are getting a bit negative.
00:43:55 And even the quarterly charts seem to suggest weakness.
00:43:58 Most of the mechanical indicators are in sell mode.
00:44:02 There is distinct heaviness in the stock, a lower top, lower bottom on multiple timeframes.
00:44:07 I'd read a bit. I'd say 2600 is very important.
00:44:11 That is not sounding like a prophet of doom or something. 2600 is a make or break level.
00:44:16 We have not closed below 2600 for Asian paints since the month ended April 21.
00:44:24 We are three years into it.
00:44:26 If we break 2600, I said, if not now, we are 250 points away.
00:44:31 If we close below 2600 on the monthly chart, I think we'll see something which we haven't seen in Asian paints in the last 39 years.
00:44:40 So I would be on tenterhooks.
00:44:43 I'd stay away from the timing. Let's see how things play out.
00:44:47 Earlier, whenever such things have happened, it's not fair to compare stocks like Asian paints here and humongous uphomes.
00:44:54 These things get digested. But this time around, is it a question of dry wool for the real thing?
00:44:58 I'd wait a bit. Things currently are not looking good.
00:45:01 So you'll wait a bit in terms of the technical charts, but let's look at it fundamentally as well.
00:45:07 You heard that bull versus bear case put together by Harsh and Mahima.
00:45:13 Reflecting again the varied kind of views when it comes to the dominance of Asian paints in the space, what's your take?
00:45:22 What side are you on?
00:45:24 I would give buy call on Asian paints for a couple of reasons.
00:45:27 Even before the reports were out, the stock was already down 15%, now 20% down from 52 week high.
00:45:35 Of course, not just because prices are down, one has to buy.
00:45:37 That gives a little comfort. But the point is, it's not going to be that easy for other players to snatch away the market share from Asian paints in the short to medium term so easily.
00:45:47 And as you rightly put it, this brand is so powerful for the last 3-4 decades, the talk is going to be very tough.
00:45:54 And who knows, they may be able to snatch away the market share from the weaker player or smaller player than from Asian paints.
00:46:03 That is another possibility I would consider.
00:46:05 And lastly, the oil price corrected on Friday, I have a firm view that crude oil price will correct substantially because there are deflationary conditions in many parts of the world.
00:46:14 That always helps Asian paints to come back with tremendous improvement in the margin and profits.
00:46:20 So considering all these facts, I would give a strong buy on Asian paints.
00:46:26 Okay, well, let's see. So, like we said, some people are constructive, some people are not. Let's see how it shapes up.
00:46:34 What it seems is that people are very constructive on Ganesh housing.
00:46:39 Everybody is constructive because the stock is in upper circuit, only buys, no sellers.
00:46:42 Let's get in and remember, it's trading on high volumes as well.
00:46:46 Mihika Johnson with why this could be the reason. Mihika, good afternoon.
00:46:50 Yes, the stock did hit an upper circuit of 10% in early trade and the stock has also surged 98% year to date.
00:46:56 And volumes were over two times its 30-day average with total volumes at 2.68 lakh crores.
00:47:01 No specific triggers very recently, but the company did have its quarter three earnings where revenue was up 2.72 times to 183 crores.
00:47:11 EBITDA was also up almost three times year on year and net profit also rose 2.32 times at 100.6 crores.
00:47:19 The company has also significantly reduced its debt from FY29 and as of March 2023, it was totally debt free.
00:47:29 It also has two ongoing projects that are set to be completed in March 2026.
00:47:34 And the expected free cash flow out of that, those two projects is around 650 crores.
00:47:39 And it also has three planned projects that are expected to be completed around 2033.
00:47:47 And the expected cash flow from that is also 9,350 crores.
00:47:50 Alright, thank you for that Mihika. Ganesh housing there on an upper circuit in trade today.
00:47:59 So, so many stories to look at, but what is the big theme coming in?
00:48:04 And an interesting conversation we had today is with the management of Dixon Technologies, Atul Lal.
00:48:10 Couple of announcements over the weekend saw the stock go up in trade.
00:48:15 We hit a life high today. It's come off those highs as well.
00:48:18 But it's an interesting take that Atul Lal has because the PLI scheme allocations which are expected post elections in July will become important.
00:48:27 And of course, their outlook on the semiconductor game.
00:48:30 So, the scheme tenure is five years.
00:48:34 And we have already made the threshold investment as committed to the government.
00:48:40 Order book is already there. We have signed the contracts.
00:48:44 And the production is being planned. The lines are being set up.
00:48:47 The organization is being built up.
00:48:49 And as I shared with you, our first year is for under the PLI 2 scheme is going to be 24-25.
00:48:56 For one of the brands, we are targeting production to start sometime in Q1.
00:49:02 And for the second large brand, we are targeting to start the production in Q2 of the next fiscal.
00:49:08 That's the plan.
00:49:11 So, these stocks are hitting life highs or trading at good highs.
00:49:14 So, Dixon is one. Sonar Compstart is another one which is up 2.5% today and continues to rise and shine from where it was.
00:49:20 So, do keep an eye out for that.
00:49:22 And the Adani Group stocks, we've spoken about them.
00:49:24 Adani Green at 1970 is certainly packing a punch as they are.
00:49:30 1972 at 2.5%. I think it is circa its life highs as well.
00:49:36 So, these are the two stocks trading on reasonably high levels.
00:49:41 Do you track Sonar Compstart, Mr. Chokalingam?
00:49:44 I've been tracking it. Of course, as you said, the stock has gone beyond my valuation comfort zone.
00:49:51 Okay. So, it's gone beyond the valuation comfort zone.
00:49:55 And in some sense, that's right because it's not a cheap stock at all relative to all the other auto ancillaries available.
00:50:03 I think this one is extremely expensive. So, that's to be kept in mind for sure.
00:50:08 What else? I'm just trying to see. There is Cupid which continues to be on an upper circuit.
00:50:13 You know, this is a story that dreams are made of. Cupid, until the acquisition was done, was nowhere in the picture.
00:50:20 Now, you look at the one-year chart and you will see a sharp uptick in Cupid from 500 odd that it started rallying.
00:50:29 The stock is now non-stop at this. Look at that 12-month gain. 891%.
00:50:34 It's just had this one-way move in the last six months and it's trading at 2453.
00:50:40 Mr. Chokalingam, do you track Cupid at all?
00:50:44 I tried to learn from it after seeing such a massive rally.
00:50:49 I'm sorry, I didn't understand why it is trading at over 120p.
00:50:56 It's an extremely expensive stock, I'm sure.
00:51:01 Today, it's gone up on high volumes. The volumes are about 10 times the two-week average.
00:51:07 It's really gone up on a very high base as well. So, good going here for Cupid.
00:51:13 Hemant, I want to ask you to comment on Cupid. Don't worry.
00:51:16 What I can ask you though, along with your closing strategy, is to give a comment on Alchem Labs.
00:51:23 We've spoken about it, but that one has fallen today on fairly high volumes.
00:51:26 So, give me a call on Alchem Labs if you can and then leave us with a closing strategy.
00:51:30 I heaped a sigh of relief, Meenaksh, when you didn't ask me about Cupid.
00:51:36 Because I was trying to work out an exit strategy, an escape strategy so to speak.
00:51:41 And now you bolt a dangerous bouncer at me.
00:51:45 Well, frankly speaking, on a serious note, Alchem has recovered very strongly from 4680 intraday low.
00:51:52 It's come back and clawed back to close, not close, I believe, very close about the 55-day exponential moving average.
00:52:00 4750 has been very strong support. It's not close below this in a few months now.
00:52:08 I wouldn't have a call at this point in time, but it's definitely not a short.
00:52:12 Because if it's recovered like this, volumes have gone through the roof, almost 25 lakhs and counting.
00:52:21 So, whatever negativity, whatever it is, I think a sell-off seems to have taken place.
00:52:25 Yes, after a couple of trading sessions, if it were to close below 4800, I think then that would be trouble down the corner.
00:52:32 But currently, it's in a no-trade zone. But I wouldn't want to short at this point in time, Meenaksh.
00:52:37 Coming back to stocks, the market seems a bit iffy, but I have a buy call, VTSD.
00:52:45 I don't need to give a VTSD, but I have my calls to give. So, I have a buy call on Adani Enterprise.
00:52:52 Because that stock was good, is good, and I believe should remain well.
00:52:58 So, buy call on Adani Enterprise is 3330, stop-loss 3230, target 3350.
00:53:03 Sorry, that is 3550. I'd like to just change that, my bad.
00:53:10 Secondly, a buy call on Tata Consumer. Tata Consumer is on the verge of breaking out or it has broken out out of a consolidation phase.
00:53:19 And yes, it's on the verge. Sorry, it hasn't broken out, but it's a multi-week consolidation phase, cusp of a breakout.
00:53:26 Buy Tata Consumer at 1175, stop-loss 1150, target 1225.
00:53:31 It's a modest trading target. I believe it's heading towards 1300 and more. Meenaksh.
00:53:37 Chokha, let me come to you. I know you won't give us perhaps a VTSD call, but your top picks in this market right now.
00:53:45 Are you seeing a lot of sideways and range bound trade? Perhaps there is a wait for the next big trigger.
00:53:52 What do you have on your top of mind?
00:53:55 Yeah, though the small cap valuation is highly stretched, in every market you have opportunities.
00:54:01 There are stocks which are ignored. One such stock is Sterling Tools.
00:54:06 This is into fastener. It's a very old, more than two decades old company that has been doing very well.
00:54:12 And recently they got into EV component. And I like this stock a lot. I have studied its fundamentals.
00:54:20 I believe this stock can easily give 20-25% return.
00:54:25 Then if I'm permitted, I can talk about a small cap or micro cap stock, Mindtech Technologies.
00:54:32 It's an IT service company. If you see recently the company claimed to have got 22 deals.
00:54:37 It's a cash rich company. A lot of cash on the books. It's an MNC stock.
00:54:41 But I want to tell you that this is only one…
00:54:45 Mr. Chokalingam, sorry, what's the name of the stock that you mentioned?
00:54:49 Mindtech.
00:54:51 Mr. Chokalingam, may I request you to just hold on to that thought because you've just broken a piece of news.
00:54:57 I would love to understand about Mindtech but I need to go across to my colleague Smriti who's broken this story on Wokhart.
00:55:03 The stock is up 7.5%. Smriti, what are you learning?
00:55:06 Hi Neeraj. Yes, Wokhart will raise 400 crores through a qualified institutional placement.
00:55:13 This is on priority basis and which is understandable.
00:55:16 If you look at their debt, it's at 933 crores while their cash is only 84 crores.
00:55:22 So they are in a hurry to raise this amount.
00:55:26 Now about the price, while the price has not been fixed yet, it will be around 10 day average of the price
00:55:33 which we have calculated and it comes around 561 rupees.
00:55:37 So probably in that range of 550 to 560 rupees, that will be the price of QIP.
00:55:45 Last year, the company tried to pass a resolution to raise 6000 crores through a promoter entity.
00:55:56 However, that failed. But the shareholders did allow the company to raise this amount through other institutional buyers.
00:56:03 So that's probably what's going to happen.
00:56:05 Now this fundraising is still a couple of days away but it's happening.
00:56:13 Sorry, did I hear you give out or tell about when is it that this QIP is likely to be launched?
00:56:19 Will it happen soon or will it happen with a bit of a lag?
00:56:22 Well, there's definitely a lag there. The bankers are still in the process of determining the price for it.
00:56:29 So we're still a few days away, a week or so.
00:56:32 Alright, big news there on Wokhart and let's talk about 7.5, 8% up.
00:56:39 As we've been breaking that story here on NDTV Profit, big moves there.
00:56:45 400 crore QIP is the exclusive that we've got for you.
00:56:48 A quick word from our experts on the Wokhart counter. Chokha, can I start with you?
00:56:53 I'm sorry, I haven't tracked it in the recent time.
00:56:56 Okay, fine.
00:56:58 Hey man, on the charts, how are you liking Wokhart?
00:57:01 561 is the 10-day price that we've calculated.
00:57:06 We don't know what the exact QIP price will be, but we're learning it will be a 10-day average.
00:57:10 As of now, that's 561 rupees.
00:57:12 Notwithstanding that dip due to the placement at 561, stock gave a multi-month breakout at 261.
00:57:23 Not anticipating the price of year, but I believe 650 and 800 is what I would look at a few months down the line.
00:57:34 By the way, that news or that story from Smriti is triggering a further reaction on the stock
00:57:38 because Wokhart is now ending at the highest point of the day, if you will, 615.
00:57:43 It was at about 608 when the story broke on NDTV Profit and now it's trading circa the highest price.
00:57:50 Now, this could be interesting because remember Wokhart is that one drug which they are banking on
00:57:57 and which could be a big game changer, if you will, in the words of Mr. Habib Khurrakiwala
00:58:03 Viewers, for all of you who are interested, there is a conversation that my colleague Samina had with Habib Khurrakiwala
00:58:09 about a month ago and you can go on to our website, ndtvprofit.com
00:58:14 or any of our social media handles or YouTube and try and hunt for that interview.
00:58:19 It gives in detail the drug and the efficacy and the kind of business that could come from it.
00:58:24 So, this granted is of course for debt reduction, but there is also a business case that Wokhart is trying to build out
00:58:32 around that launch. So, keep this at the back of the mind. 612 and counting is Wokhart at the current point of time.
00:58:39 Mr. Chokalingam, very quickly, in about 30 to 60 seconds, if you can explain MindTech and why do you like it?
00:58:46 It's a small MNC, micro-cap startup. It's suitable only for risk-taking people because it's a micro-cap.
00:58:55 It's debt-free, a lot of cash on the books and diversified clientele profile.
00:59:00 A few weeks back, the management has reported to the exchange that they have got signed 22 deals.
00:59:06 So, all this is well for MindTech.
00:59:09 Okay, let's start wrapping up the markets for our viewers.
00:59:14 Mr. Chokalingam and Hemen, thank you for taking the time out and being with us on the show.
00:59:19 But quickly wrap up what the markets are doing. And at close, 0.4% lower for the nifty.
00:59:26 So, it's kind of succumbed to a little bit of selling in the last half an hour from 0.2 to 0.43.
00:59:32 I wonder if banks have led that, should get the bank nifty? Half a percent. So, banks have certainly led that.
00:59:38 Mid-caps and small caps could be flattish, but we should get the heat map up.
00:59:41 Because yes, the last half an hour, we have seen some bit of selling for sure.
00:59:46 Asian Pains is down 4%, so that one is sulking alright.
00:59:49 I am wondering where are the banks which would have done. So, they are not in the top 10 losers.
00:59:53 It's only half a percent down for the bank nifty per se.
00:59:56 It's the IT stocks as well today. The IT index should be down about a percent and a half, nearly 2%.
01:00:04 So, IT stocks definitely. Let's pull up the nifty contributors, right?
01:00:08 And see what's really contributing to that pain.
01:00:10 Because yes, you do have an Asian Pains at the bottom.
01:00:13 ICICI Bank.
01:00:15 Yes, there you have it. ICICI Bank, Infosys and ICICI Bank between them and Asian Pains TCS.
01:00:21 So, it is an IT play which is…
01:00:23 It is actually more than IT play. The last half an hour, I have seen some selling into banking because the bank nifty from being flat is now down half a percent.
01:00:29 So, that's quite stunning. On the gaining side, it's Dadani Twins and L&T to kind of stand out.
01:00:35 Correct. The advance-decline ratios for the day also will tell you the kind of volatility perhaps you have had.
01:00:42 Look at that. In the last half an hour, 20 minutes or so since we have been tracking this, Neeraj, that you have really seen that gap open up and the ratio sort of getting skewed.
01:00:52 We should also just pull up what the mid-cap losers are for the day. The mid-cap losers and the gainers for the day.
01:00:59 Because you have had an overall, I would say, tepid day of trade. Nothing too exciting happening.
01:01:05 The standout stories in the positive and negative sides are Asian Pains.
01:01:10 One of the stories really of the last hour of trade is the recovery here.
01:01:13 And HPCL, if you pull up a BPCL, IOC, all of those that you were talking about as well, Neeraj, and something you alluded to, a trade setup that is the worst over for OMCs perhaps.
01:01:25 During close, you did see that coming in. Maybe an HPCL and an IOC can also be pulled up altogether.
01:01:32 So, yeah, you have had a decent-ish recovery over there.
01:01:37 You have to argue that, yes. And Tamanna is right. IT stood out like a sore thumb.
01:01:41 We spoke about that, that a lot of shots piled there ahead of the expiry week.
01:01:45 And that's what's happened to Nifty IT, 1.25% lower. So, keep that in mind.
01:01:49 Just want to wrap up with a line chart of Wokard because that was a big exclusive that we broke on NDTV Profit.
01:01:56 If we can just bring that one up and see how that one has ended.
01:01:59 In the dying minutes of trade, viewers, you would remember if you've just joined in, we broke an exclusive story about a possible QIP.
01:02:06 And Tamanna, good reaction to that one as well.
01:02:07 Yeah, absolutely. Wokard closed to its day's high at 619, not quite there.
01:02:13 Maybe a little pull-off right at the bottom.
01:02:15 And post-afternoon, you saw that stock beginning to rise and then, of course, NDTV Profit's exclusive there.
01:02:21 So, that will be one stock to watch in trade tomorrow.
01:02:24 Yes, indeed. But for now, from Tamanna and me and the team that put this show together, thank you so much for watching.
01:02:32 I'm Alfa Strategist with the Motira Losal Wealth team coming up next. Stay tuned.
