BamaCentral Courtside: Kentucky 117, Alabama 95
Transcript
00:00 Welcome in to Bama Central courtside. I'm Blake Beiler joined by Matthew Gibson and we're here in Rough Arena after Alabama's 117-95 crushing, throttling, dominating, loss, whatever other synonyms you want to come up with.
00:16 Alabama could not get a stop in this game is basically what it comes down to. But Matthew, after the game we just watched, what did you see that was the biggest issue for Alabama?
00:29 Well again in this game I think it was the turnover and stay out. Mark Sears had six. Just really disgusting performance by the offense in that sense.
00:39 Really for Alabama, just 117 points for Kentucky. For the longest time we were watching to see if Kentucky would set the record for most points scored against Alabama which was 122.
00:50 They got five points away but they kept them from setting that record.
00:53 And again there was just a lot of defensive lapses. I think Kentucky's guards did a really good job of just getting around some things and just fighting almost for Alabama.
01:00 Whether it be cutting inside or getting a lot of open shots from deep which Edwards had was what 10 for 10?
01:06 10 for 10.
01:07 And just Reeves had 24 points of his own. Just a really great performance for Kentucky and for Alabama. Just a lot to work on on the defensive end and even on the offensive end.
01:15 Yeah it really felt like it was a good game for the first eight minutes or so and then once the floodgates kind of opened for Alabama and the turnover started piling up, it just became like a wave that they couldn't stop.
01:28 And that led to the large deficit Alabama cut into it a little bit towards the end of the game.
01:34 Ended up losing by I think 22 instead of 30, 34 is where it bounced at some points in the second half.
01:41 But still not a lot of positives to take away from this.
01:45 Nadeau said after the game that the biggest positive was that they had played good enough offense this season to still be tied for first place in the SEC which they are.
01:52 As of now Alabama's next game will be still on the road going to Ole Miss on Wednesday.
01:58 Nathie and I will both be there in Oxford. We'll have all of your coverage for Pima Central there.
02:03 But until then this is the Pima Central court side. Thank you so much for watching.
