00:00 - Have you gone to any of the spring training games
00:03 since you got out here?
00:03 - You know what, I went to one many a moon ago,
00:08 and I believe it was a Dodgers game?
00:11 - Oh, you went to a Dodgers game?
00:12 - I think so.
00:13 - Yeah, so--
00:14 - I believe so, yes.
00:15 - Camelback, Camelback Ranch.
00:17 - Yes, that's where I was.
00:17 - All right, that's the Dodgers.
00:19 And so a lot's going on here,
00:21 because we have the half billion dollar man here
00:25 playing for the Dodgers. - It's a big deal.
00:26 - That's gonna be really good.
00:26 - Are we getting him on the show?
00:27 - I'm trying. - All right.
00:28 - We're talking, we're trying to work with some people.
00:30 - Let's do it.
00:31 - We're working with actually the beat writer
00:34 for the LA Times, Sports.
00:37 So I know him personally.
00:39 - Even if we get him in on the show, that would be cool.
00:41 - Yeah, so we're working on that to get him in.
00:43 I think he's supposed to come out here for spring training.
00:45 If not, we'll get him on the Zoom call.
00:47 - Zoom, yeah.
00:48 - But all the parts are ready to go, they're excited.
00:50 I know a lot of people are excited, and it's very busy.
00:52 So literally to the point where all the rental cars are gone.
00:56 - No way.
00:57 - All the cars are out because of this.
00:59 - I mean, it is a big thing here in the Valley.
01:01 People really show up for it, people come out for it.
01:04 And now is the time, it's so beautiful outside.
01:07 The last couple of days have just been so gorgeous.
01:09 Yesterday, beautiful.
01:10 - It's gonna be a great weekend for, of course, opening day.
01:13 And I went out to, of course, MLB Spring Training
01:18 this morning and got to see what the Cubs have planned
01:23 for this year's spring training.
01:24 Take a look.
01:26 - Well, it's that time of year, spring training
01:29 in the Valley, and I'm very excited to be here
01:31 at Sloan Park where the Cubs play.
01:33 Yes, my North side team guys, I'm sorry, that's why I'm here.
01:37 I'm with Justin here, and we're very excited
01:38 because one, Sloan Park is celebrating 10 year anniversary.
01:42 And then also two, a lot going on out here
01:45 for the celebration.
01:46 - Absolutely, it's an important milestone for us here
01:49 in Mesa, Arizona.
01:51 The Cubs have been here since 1952,
01:53 but this has been our home the last couple of years.
01:55 Our home the last 10 years.
01:56 And we have a lot to celebrate over the last 10 years.
01:59 - Let's remind people also too where Sloan Park is
02:01 'cause it's kind of interesting, people still,
02:03 after 10 years, think you guys are way out there at home,
02:06 but you're not, you're like literally right off the 202.
02:09 - Absolutely, right here at the 101 and 202 in Mesa,
02:12 nice, convenient place to be.
02:14 - Okay, let's talk about the celebration.
02:16 Let's also talk about games 'cause first game up
02:19 is already a North side, South side kind of competition,
02:23 West side, East side.
02:24 It's the Sox against the Cubs.
02:28 - Yeah, what better way to open
02:29 than your cross town rivalry here in Mesa
02:32 or here in Arizona as well as Chicago.
02:34 - This is gonna be awesome.
02:35 Okay, so we got a lot planned for this year,
02:38 a lot of different things for the games to come up.
02:39 What are some of the things people are gonna be enjoying
02:41 when they come out?
02:42 - Yeah, that great Cubs atmosphere here at Sloan Park
02:45 is always the case.
02:47 We're gonna look forward to welcoming 15,000 people here
02:50 on opening day and throughout the season.
02:52 And everyone can enjoy
02:54 that great spring training experience.
02:56 Maybe come over to the marquee here
02:58 and get your photo taken.
02:59 We also have a kid zone in the back,
03:01 our advocate kid zone with a wiffle ball field,
03:04 good family friendly food and beverage and treats out there.
03:08 And kids can look forward to seeing Clark,
03:10 our mascot out there from time to time.
03:12 - I like that.
03:13 And let's talk games
03:14 'cause there's a lot of different games going on here.
03:16 We know that they have,
03:17 but there's some special teams coming into play.
03:20 - Yeah, unique this year,
03:21 the St. Louis Cardinals are gonna wrap up against the Cubs.
03:24 They're gonna fly over from Florida,
03:26 wrap up here against the Cubs,
03:28 the final two games of the year.
03:29 - All right, let's talk tickets
03:30 'cause that's very important
03:31 because all the packages have been sold out.
03:33 But look at me, Cub fans, look at me, look at me.
03:37 Single day tickets are available, am I right?
03:39 - Yeah, packages are sold out,
03:41 but single game tickets are available.
03:43 Act fast for opening day though,
03:45 there's not a whole lot left.
03:46 Cubs.com or SloanPark.com.
03:49 - There it is.
03:49 All right, it is spring training in the Valley.
03:52 So you gotta come out and enjoy the Cubs at least,
03:55 but of course all the teams around.
03:56 All right, you're gonna wanna tune in tomorrow
04:03 because I am tasting some of the food
04:06 that you can get out at the stadium too.
04:08 So that's right, this year.
04:09 So some new food. - Wait, wait, let me think.
04:11 Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks.
04:14 I don't care if we ever come back.
04:15 - There you go. - I love it.
04:16 - That's right.
04:17 - Yeah, that sounds tasty.
