00:00 Some lively weather outside this morning in terms of an active cold front bringing squally rain.
00:06 The Met Office has issued warnings for rain and wind.
00:09 This is your rain warning extending from the Severn Estuary, central southern England,
00:13 all the way up towards Fenlands as well as East Anglia covering London.
00:17 And then a wind warning further south.
00:19 Gusts here could reach along the coast 60 to 70 miles an hour associated with this rain band.
00:25 But even across this area here you could see gusts up to 50 miles an hour with any heavier burst.
00:31 Now through this morning a rash of showers continues across the western side of Scotland.
00:35 Some showery rain, heavy at times, across eastern Scotland down towards northern England
00:40 and a few showers running in across Northern Ireland.
00:43 But this is this active cold front.
00:45 You can see lots of heavy rain associated with it.
00:48 We could see one to three hours of heavy rain as we head through the morning.
00:51 And more heavy rain weighting the wings moving in from the west country approaching central southern England.
00:57 Some pulses of rain and one or two heavy showers also for eastern counties.
01:02 Now as I said this rain is also squally so expect some strong gusts.
01:07 And we could see some thunder, lightning and hail as well.
01:11 Same goes for the showers towards the north.
01:13 They could be heavy with snow over the hills and mountains and again the risk of hail and thunder.
01:19 Now through Thursday morning this morning you can see where the rain is.
01:22 It's approaching eastern counties so unpleasant conditions if you're driving.
01:27 And then another pulse just moves in across central southern parts of the country through this afternoon.
01:33 Elsewhere some clearance across Wales, northern England.
01:36 Some brighter skies for north east England, eastern counties of Scotland.
01:40 And these showers running in across northern Ireland again.
01:43 They could be heavy wintry over the hills.
01:45 A similar situation for the western side of Scotland.
01:48 Some frequent bursts here.
01:50 But further showery bursts likely across eastern counties through the afternoon again.
01:54 Some intense pulses likely.
01:56 Temperatures struggling a little bit after a bit of a frosty start towards the north.
01:59 Temperatures 5 to 6 degrees celsius further south at 7 or 8.
02:03 Eventually that rain clears but replaced by showers across the south west.
02:08 And further showers running in on a cold north west wind across Scotland and northern Ireland.
02:13 A few also for northern England. Snow over the Pennines and a few down towards Wales.
02:19 Where again across the Welsh mountains we could see some wintryness.
02:22 Temperatures really taking a tumble through into Friday morning.
02:25 The risk of a frost, a cold start to the day.
02:28 At least though there will be some broken cloud through Friday and also some brighter weather.
02:33 But showers never too far away.
02:36 So this is your outlook through Friday.
02:38 You may run into a shower pretty much anywhere.
02:40 But the frequent bursts will always be towards the west.
02:43 And you can see quite wet down towards the south west of England clipping the south coast.
02:48 Further heavy showers across the north and the west of Scotland.
02:51 A few running in also across the central belt where you could see some wet weather around lunchtime.
02:56 A scattered affair when it comes to showers across northern England.
02:59 A little sunshine coming through from time to time.
03:02 time.
