Probe after BBC-promoted rapper unmasked as killer of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen

00:00An investigation is underway after convicted murderer Jake Fahrey recorded drill music
00:05referencing his 2008 murder of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen. 35-year-old Fahrey appears as rapper 10,
00:11who boasts about violence in several videos. The Sun reports that Fahrey's tracks have recently
00:17been showcased on BBC Radio 1 Extra, with DJ Theo Johnson saying the artist quote,
00:22really stands out. In one song, available on platforms such as Spotify and YouTube,
00:2710 appears to reference Jimmy's death. The 16-year-old altar boy bled to death at the Three
00:32Cooks Bakery in Leigh, South London, after Fahrey threw a large glass dish that shattered and
00:37severed an artery in his neck. In 2009, the then-19 Fahrey was jailed for life with a minimum term of
00:4314 years at the Old Bailey for murder. Now 35, he was released on licence in June 2023. An HMP
00:50prison and probation service spokesperson said they're investigating the content of these songs
00:55as a priority. The BBC have responded saying nobody at the station knew of 10's true identity.
